         Well with all of the events going on around us it was great to see the car count that we had on this last Saturday night race of the season. Starting next week and till the end of the season we will be racing daytime with the gates opening at 10AM. Over 250 cars and bikes where on hand for this last night race. We had three first time winners for the season and three repeat winners. The battle for the gold card is heating up for some close racing to the end.

 

       In super pro 100 cars staged up for the first round with 14 five 0 bulbs And Wayne Angell having a perfect .500 and nineteen dead on runs with David Calmes, Leon Bryan, Tom Coil and Dave Rhoads all with a one. In round two 10 five 0 bulbs with Jeff Perry having a .502 for the best and seven dead on runs with Dean Howard and Derek Mallow with a one. In round three the best light was a .508 by Wayne Angell and Doug Miller and Dean Howard dead on with a four. In round four we had three five 0 lights with Jason Ford having a perfect .500 and Doug Miller running dead on with a six. In the quarterfinals Dean Howard of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 67 Nova got the bye run. Jim Cowan of Miamisburg, Ohio in his 27 Ford Roadster used the better light to win over Chris Wheatcraft of Jamestown, Ohio in his 97 Avenger. Jim Smith of Beavercreek, Ohio in his Fox Dragster used a .503 light to beat David Christian of Denniston, Kentucky in his 23T. Wayne Angell of Fairborn, Ohio in his 67 Camaro red lighted giving the win to Doug Miller of Huber Heights, Ohio in his Camaro who ran a dead on 6.001 on a 6.00 dial in. In the semi finals Miller had a .504 light but broke out giving the win back to Smith. Howard ran 6.290 on a 6.29 dial in to get by Cowan. In the final Smith got his first win of the season in a double break out race over Howard.

          In the pro bracket 71 cars staged up for the first round with Lyndon Cox having a .506 and Robert Stacy running dead on with a 5 for the best. In round two Randy Smith had a .502 and Bill Haag ran a dead on with a one for the best of the round. In round three Rich Wilson had a .501 and Mike Gill ran a dead on with a one for the best of the round. In round four Dave Baker had a .508 for the best of the round. In the quarterfinals Mike L Hurless of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 72 Nova got the bye run. Jason Wheatcraft of Jamestown, Ohio in his 67 Cuda won the double break out race over Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 72 Chevelle. Dave Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 70 Camaro broke out giving the win to Donnie Manning of West Carrollton, Ohio in his 63 Fury. In the semifinals Wheatcraft got the bye run in to the final. Hurless wins the double break out race over Manning who was trying to win for his brother Danny. In the final it was won on the starting line with Hurless having the better light and both drivers running dead on with a six. It was Hurless third win of the season and Wheatcraft first final.

        In the sportsman bracket 33 cars staged up for the first round with Dennis Young and Ronnie Evans having perfect .500 lights and Danny Oiler Jr running dead on with a one for the best of the round. In round three Terry Knight had a .503 light for the best of the round. In the quarterfinals Howard Ledford of Kettering, Ohio in his 99 Mustang got the bye. Walt Shade Jr of Riverside, Ohio in his 73 Maverick red lighted giving the win to Richard Hammond of West Milton, Ohio in his 87 Firebird. Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu had the better light and got the win over Danny Oiler Jr of Springfield, Ohio in his 93 Mustang. In the semifinals Caplinger got the bye. Ledford broke out giving the win to Hammond. In the final Hammond had the better light but broke out giving Caplinger his Sixth win of the season.

        In motorcycle 21 bikes staged up for the first round. In round two Dean Weaks had a .506 light for the best of the round. In the quarterfinals Burt Exman of Englewood, Ohio on his 83 Suzuki had the better light and got the win over Perry Dog Sowers of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki. Dean Weaks of Fairborn, Ohio on his 77 Suzuki had the better light and got the win over Nathan Thatcher of Dayton, Ohio on his 76 Kawasaki. Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki won the double break out race over Brian Poe of Cable, Ohio on his 96 Suzuki. In the semifinals Weaks got the bye run. Exman won the double break out race over Oiler Sr. In the final Exman had a .508 to .516 advantage over Weaks and won his fifth race of the season.

       28 junior dragster’s staged up for the first round with Brian Cripps ran an 11.603 on an 11.60 dial in for the best. Justin Whitt had the best light of the day in juniors with a .512. In the semifinals Megan Hughes of Jamestown, Ohio in her 95 BOS got the win over Mike Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio in his 02 Spitzer. Matt Spradlin of Springfield, Ohio in his 00 Spitzer got the win over Kyle Liddy of Kettering, Ohio in his Spitzer. In the final Hughes won the double breakout race over Spradlin for her first win ever.

          In high school Corey Holses of Dayton, Ohio in his 94 Chevy ran a 17.695 at 77.88 on a 17.60 dial in for his first win.
