       With the team at Indy the car count was down as it always is on that weekend. But we had the Outlaw Street Car Association on hand and a car show and swap meet going on in the pits. Duke Alley of Lucasville, Ohio won the Outlaw class. The pro street class Bill Lutz of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Phillip Jergens of Tipp City, Ohio split because of curfew. In true street Tim Kinerem of Mt. Washington, Kentucky won. In mild street Martin Connelly of Salyersville, Kentucky got the win.

 

        75 cars staged up for first round action in super pro with ten five 0 bulbs and Matt Barrett having a perfect .500 for the best. We had seven dead on runs with the best being Belva Brinegar with a 5.152 on a 5.15 dial in. In round two we had three five 0 bulbs with Roger Taylor .505 being the best. We had four dead on with Donald Hunter going 5.482 on a 5.48 dial in for the best. Round three had three five 0 bulbs and John Landis having a perfect .500. Bob Burris running 5.163 on a 5.16 dial and Tom Jones running 6.863 on a 6.86 dial in for the best of the round. The round four best was Rick Wilkin with a .504 and Gary reed with a 6.456 on a 6.45 dial in. In the quarterfinals Rick Wilkin of Hillsboro, Ohio in his 91 Camaro getting the bye and cutting a .503 light. George Buchhalter of Fairborn, Ohio in his 97 Dragster used a perfect .500 to get by Tom Jones of Columbus, Ohio. Roger Taylor of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 00 Undercover Dragster won a double breakout race over Rick Coleman of Columbus, Ohio. In the semi finals Taylor got the bye run. Buchhalter had the better light but Wilkin ran dead on 5.794 on a 5.79 dial in to take the win. Taylor and Wilkin split the money because of curfew.

 

         41 pro cars staged up for the first round with Brett Randall and Jim Emrick both having .504 lights. Jeff Shaw ran a 12.393 on a 12.39 dial in for the best. In round two Ron Watts and Lyndon Cox both had .504 lights. Roger Ledbetter ran a 10.930 on a 10.93 dial in for the best. In round three Randy Smith ran a 10.532 on a 10.53 dial in for the best. In the quarterfinals Jerry Walter of Jamestown, Ohio in his 57 Chevy red lighted giving the win to Randy Smith of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 73 Ventura. Lonnie Lindsey of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 67 Camaro red lighted giving the win to Jim Emrick of Tipp city, Ohio in his 68 Nova. Roger Ledbetter of Riverside, Ohio in his 76 Firebird won a double breakout race over Mike Penwell of Lebanon, Ohio in his Omega. In the semi final Smith got the bye run. Emrick ran a 12.704 on a 12.70 dial in the get by Ledbetter. In the final Smith won the double breakout race over Emrick to win for the second week in a row.

          17 cars staged up for the first round of sportsman with Nell Forsythe running a 15.054 on a 15.05 dial in to start things off. In round two Terry Knight ran a 13.007 on a 13.00 dial in. In the quarterfinals Carl Thomas of Kettering, Ohio in his 65 Mustang got the bye run. Howard Ledford of Kettering, Ohio in his 99 Mustang got the win over Dave Freauf of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 78 Mustang. Bill Fogt of Anna, Ohio in his Chevelle got the win over Rick Crouch of Brookville, Ohio in his Malibu. In the semi final Ledford got the bye run. Thomas won the double breakout race over Fogt to make his second straight final. Ledford got his first win of the season when Thomas broke out.

      7 motorcycles staged up for the first round the quarterfinals Eric Spencer of Xenia, Ohio on his 82 Suzuki got the bye run. Roger Wilhelm Jr of Urbana, Ohio on his 72 Kawasaki got by Gregg Dixon of Urbana, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki. Jeff Nye of Kettering, Ohio on his 77 Suzuki red lighted giving the win to Russ Withem of Fairborn, Ohio on his 78 Kawasaki. Sam Cotterman of Tremont City, Ohio on his 81 Suzuki got the win over Mike McGrath of Dayton, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki. In the semi final Cotterman got the win over Wilhelm Jr and Withem over Spencer. In the final Withem got his first win of the season over Cotterman.

        10 junior dragster’s staged up for first round with Trey Collier of Dayton, Ohio winning the top tree award with the best light of all juniors today with a .505. In the quarterfinals Tyler Vance of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 97 BOS got the bye run. Megan Hughes of Jamestown, Ohio in her 95 BOS got the win over Trey Collier of Dayton, Ohio in his half scale. James Smith of Beavercreek, Ohio got by Andi Terrell of New Carlisle, Ohio. In the semi final Hughes got the bye run to make it to her first final. Smith red lighted giving Vance the win. In the final Vance ran a 9.037 on a 9.03 dial in to take the win over Hughes.
