       It was a great day for racing weather wise. Sunny skies a little breeze and the biggest turnout of racers this season. 311 cars and bikes ran down track in the first round. Don’t forget that next week the gates open at 11am for the first quick 16 race of the season.

 

There were 119 cars in the first round of bracket one action today. The first round started things off with 15 cars running dead on their dial ins and Steve Taylor going 5.010 on a 5.01. Jerry Cochran cutting a perfect .500 light but losing. In round two 9 cars ran dead on with Danny Kendall and Doug Miller both dead on with an 0. Gary Spence .501 was the best light. In round three Dale Morris had the best light with a .503 and three cars ran dead on. In round four Gordy Fairchild had a perfect .500 light. Five cars ran dead on and Jay Fedkow ran 5.380 on a 5.38 dial in. In the quarterfinals JR Lockhart of Riverside, Ohio in his Racetech Dragster had the better light and ran dead on 4.997 at 136.80 on a 4.99 dial in to get by Doug Miller of Huber Heights, Ohio in his Camaro. Jim Emrick of Tipp City, Ohio in his 69 Camaro had a .499 red light giving the win to Jay Fedkow of Xenia, Ohio in his 96 Dragster. Jan Lebth of Waverlye, Ohio in his 64 Ford won a double break out race over Tim Louderback of Xenia, Ohio in his Dragster. Gordy Fairchild of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 71 Duster had the better light but broke out giving the win to Mike Elam of West Milton, Ohio in his 63 Nova. In the semi finals Lebth got the better light and the win light over Lockhart. Elam broke giving Fedkow a bye run. In the final Fedkow got the better light and the win light over Lebth, it was Jay first win in the dragster.

 

 

 

      In the first round of pro the air had cooled down and there was a lot of breakouts. Carey Pratt had the best light of the round with a .505 but lost a double break out ran. Mary Beth Hess was the only car to run dead on. In round two Garth Lightfood had the best light with a .503 and three cars ran dead on. In round three Mike Gill had the best light with a .510 and only one car ran dead on. In round for the best light was a.503 and no dead ons. In the semi final Bill Livesay of Fairborn, Ohio in his 70 Nova got the bye run. Neil Wolfe of Xenia, Ohio in his 78 Malibu red light giving the win to Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 72 Chevelle. In the final Caplinger had the better light and won the double break out race 11.490 at 115.96 on an 11.51 dial in. Livesay ran a 10.628 at 123.27 on a 10.66 dial in.

 

 

 

       In the sportsman class round one James Stewart had the best light with a .502 and two cars ran dead on. In round two to cars ran dead on. In the quarterfinals Joe Zimmer of Dayton, Ohio in his Camaro ran dead on with a zero to get by Phil Borton of Urbana, Ohio in his Camaro. Rob Stacy of New Carlisle, Ohio in his Dart broke out giving Dennis Young of Dayton, Ohio in his 71 Camaro the win. Ricky Shepherd of Dayton in his 74 Nova had a .499 red light giving the win to Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu. Danny Oiler Jr of Springfield, Ohio in his Mustang won a double breakout over Nathan Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 69 Mustang. In the semi final Caplinger get the better light but Young got the win. Oiler Jr got the better light but lose to Zimmer. In the final Young got hid second straight win with a 13.183 at 100.87 on a 13.09 dial in. Zimmer ran a 13.967 at 97.82 on a 13.98 dial in.

 

 

 

       In the motorcycle bracket round one Danny Oiler Sr ran dead on with a 0 and two more bike ran dead on. Russell Stewart had the best light with a .502 but lost. In round two we had to .505 lights and three dead ons. In the quarterfinals Jim Arledge of Circleville, Ohio on his Kawasaki got the bye run. Paul Herald Jr of Springfield, Ohio on his Kawasaki red lighted giving the win to Jesse Sowers of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki. Larry Sagraves of Springfield, Ohio on his Kawasaki beat Rick Bodwar Jr. of Columbus, Ohio. In the semi final Sagraves got the bye run. Sowers red lighted giving the win to Arledge. In the final Sagraves red lighted giving the win to Arledge who ran an 8.648 at 148.93 on an 8.55 dial in. 

        In junior dragster Zach Wolfe of Miamisburg had a perfect .500 light in round two. In the quarterfinals Erik Smith of New Carlisle, Ohio got the better light and the win light over last weeks winner Ryan Jenks of Jamestown, Ohio. Justin Whitt of Fairborn, Ohio got the win over a breaking out Chris Nuss of North Hampton, Ohio. Andi Terrell of New Carlisle, Ohio got the better light and won a double breakout race over Taylor Manning of West Carrollton, Ohio. Zach Wolfe beat Logan Miller of London, Ohio. In the semi final Whitt got the better light and the win light over Terrell. Wolfe red lighted giving the win to Smith. In the final Whitt red lighted giving the win to Smith who ran a 9.321 at 68.07 on a 9.17 dial in. Whitt ran an 8.085 at 82.55 on a 7.93 dial in.

 

 

 

          In the high school final Michael Collier of Dayton, Ohio in his Buick got his first win of the season with a 18.742 at 71.86 on a 18.70 dial in over David Reedy of Xenia, Ohio in his Mustang who ran a 12.688 at 104.19 on a 12.47 dial in.
