       Well with a chance of rain and some hot temp’s and the holiday weekend the car count was down just a bit, but the racing was hot. The track management ran all brackets separate and paid full purse. We had four first time winners and two repeat winners.

 

         In the super pro bracket we had 93 cars stage up for the first round action. Todd Cordell and Mike Sparks had the best lights with .501 and Ed Beyer Jr and Wayne Angell both ran dead on with a zero. In the second round John King and Bradley Shellhaas both had perfect .500 lights and Leon Bryan running the best with a 5.934 on a 5.93 dial in. In round three Jim Smith had the best light with a .502 and JR Lockhart had the best run with a 5.042 on a 5.04 dial in. In round four Jim Smith had it all with a perfect .500 light and a 5.192 on a 5.19 dial in. In the quarterfinals Jason Ford of New Madison, Ohio in Gail Carlson dragster went .499 red giving the win to Bradley Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio in his 91 Jegster. Jeff Perry of Huber Heights, Ohio in his T-Bird just got by Jim Smith of Beavercreek, Ohio in his Dragster. Jeff Hurst of Fairborn, Ohio in his Undercover Dragster got bye Jerry Dunkel of Kettering, Ohio in his 69 Chevelle. In the semi finals Perry got the bye run. Shellhaas had a .508 light but broke out giving the win to Hurst. In the final it was two first time finalist for 04 looking for there first win. Hurst red lighted with a .498 and ran dead on 4.750 on a 4.75 dial in giving Perry his first win of the season.

       In the pro bracket we had 56 cars stage up for round one. Mike L Hurless had the best light of the round with a .501 and Danny Manning ran a 10.111 on a 10.11 dial in for the best run of the round. In round two Rod Knight ran a 10.991 on a 10.99 dial in. In round three Dave Cox ran a 10.091 on a 10.09 dial in. In the quarterfinals Jeff Stokes of Riverside, Ohio in his Camaro got the bye run. Mike L Hurless of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 72 Nova Had a 5.05 light but broke out giving the win to Roy Hess of Xenia, Ohio in his GTO. Bryan Fox of Springfield, Ohio in his Dragster red lighted giving the win to Gwayne Honeycutt of Urbana, Ohio in his 62 Nova. Donnie Manning of West Carrollton, Ohio in his 63 Fury had the better light .510 to .522 and ran a 10.801 on a 10.80 dial in to get by Terry Davis of Milledgeville, Ohio in his 72 Nova who ran a 10.361 on a 10.36 dial in. In the semi finals Honeycutt red lighted giving the win to Hess. Manning got the win over Stokes. In the final both drivers where looking for there first win of the season Manning had the better light but broke out giving Hess his first win of the season.

        In the sportsman bracket 27 cars staged up for round one. In round two Jason Farquer had the best light with a .506 and Mike McGriff ran a 13.903 on a 13.90 dial in. In the quarterfinals Nick Wyatt of Xenia, Ohio in his 95 Mustang got the bye run. Richard Hammond of West Milton, Ohio in his 87 Firebird red lighted giving the win to Phil Borton of Urbana, Ohio in his 79 Camaro. Mike McGriff of Oregonia, Ohio in his 91 Mustang red lighted giving the win to Jason Farquer of Hillsboro, Ohio in his 79 Malibu. In a battle of father and son Ricky Shepherd of Dayton, Ohio in his 74 Nova had the better light and won the double breakout race over Jason Shepherd of Riverside, Ohio in his pickup truck. In the semi finals Borton had a .504 light and won the double breakout race over Shepherd. Wyatt had the better light but broke out giving the win to Farquer. In the finals both drivers were looking for there first wins of the season. Borton had the better light and got his first win of the season over Farquer.

        In the motorcycle bracket 19 bikes staged up in the first round. Perry Dog Sowers had the best light with a .508 and Dean Weaks ran an 11.285 on an 11.28 dial in. In round two Sowers ran a 9.116 on a 9.11 dial in. In the quarterfinals Nathan Thatcher of Tipp City, Ohio on his 76 Kawasaki got the bye run. Perry Dog Sowers of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki had a .506 light to beat Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki. Bob Nugent of Fairborn, Ohio on his 79 Kawasaki won a double breakout race over Brad Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio on his 75 Kawasaki. In the semi finals Nugent got the bye run. Thatcher used a .510 light to get by Sowers. In the final both riders were looking for their second win of the season. Nugent used a .518 light to get his second win of the season.

      In junior dragster 31 cars staged up for the first round. Ceslie Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio had the best light of the day with a .507 and Lyle Liddy of Kettering, Ohio ran a 9.171 on a 9.17 dial in. In round two Randy Kocol of West Carrollton, Ohio ran a dead on 9.550 on a 9.55 dial in. In the quarterfinals Randy Kocol got the win when Robbie Kocol also of West Carrollton, Ohio broke out. Shawn Pitts of London, Ohio ran an 8.901 on an 8.90 dial in to beat Jake Browder of Fairborn, Ohio. Ceslie Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio had the better light and got the win over a breaking out Payton Filson of Fairborn, Ohio. Ciera Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio who beat brother Mike Philpott who red lighted. In the semi finals Kocol had the better light and got the win over Philpott. Shellhaas had the better light .531 to .533 and got the win over Pitts. In the final both drivers were looking for their first win of the season. Shellhaas had the better light and got her first win of the season over Kocol.
