Williams Tops Kil-Kare Pure Stocks

by Jerry Wahl

Xenia, Ohio (7/2) - Xenia's Pure Stock driver Tom Williams was the star of the show Friday night at Kil-Kare Speedway where he captured his third feature of the year.
Driving the Vogelsong Chiropractic sponsored Monte Carlo Williams started on the outside front row along with Melvin McMullen who started on the inside front row. Williams wasted little time in shooting into the lead and didn't let six caution periods dampen his sights on winning.
Each time Williams pulled away from the field however sixteenth place starter Heath White of Springfield was closing in on Williams when starter Danny Hammond waved the checker flag. White, a three time winner earned second place money with third going to Harveysburg's Bret Clark.
Jamie Sites of Vandalia who has been a consistent top five finisher brought his Camaro up from eleventh starting slot to claim fourth and fifth was defending track champion Jeff Marsh of Centerville.
Rounding out the top ten were Bill Burba, Jimmie Johnson, Jason Evans, Brian Rauch, and Derrick Louderback.
Williams who is seeking his first track points championship continues to be the point leader with 468 points. Heath White is second with 436, followed by Bret Clark 424, Jeff Marsh 410, and Mike South Jr. with 408 points.
All regular Friday night divisions return next week for Dodge Night with double points with the gates opening at 6 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m.
