Well after
Thursdays big storms hit a lot of the equipment Tom from track services
had to come up and replace some thing. He stayed all day and to make
sure every thing was working just right. The weather was great and we
had a lot more cars and bike then I though we would on this holiday
weekend. There were a lot of other races going on around us. I was glad
to see the good turn out here today.
There were
100 cars staged up for the first round of super pro today, and 12 had
5’0 reaction times with Terry Terrell cutting a .502 for the best of
the round. There were nine cars that ran dead on there dial ins, with
Eddie McCoy running dead on with a 6.440 on a 6.44 but lost with a red
light. In round two three had 0 bulbs and seven ran dead on with the
best being with a one. In round three Vernon Angles cut a perfect .500
and ran 6.366 on a 6.36 dial in, six cars ran dead on with the best
being with a two. In round four we had two 5’0 bulbs and four dead on
with the best being with a two. In the quarterfinals Phil Spradlin of
Springfield, Ohio in his 69 Nova got the bye run. Tim Browning of
Lebanon, Ohio in his 65 Buick ran dead on 6.137 on a 6.13 dial in to
beat Randy Kling of Kettering, Ohio in his 51 Henry J. Jack Morris of
West Liberty, Ohio in his 66 Chevy II had a .499 red light giving the
win to Jim Fourcade of Troy, Ohio in his 02 Dragster. Terry Terrell of
New Carlisle, Ohio in his 89 Grand Prix red lighted giving the win to
Chris Wheatcraft of Jamestown, Ohio in his 97 Avenger. In the semi
finals Spradlin had the better light and broke out giving the win to
Wheatcraft. Browning had the better light but could not run his number
giving the win to Fourcade. In the final Wheatcraft had the better light
with a .510 and ran a 5.237 at 131.59 on a 5.23 dial in for his first
win of the season. Fourcade ran a 4.996 at 138.52 on a 4.96 dial in.

In the pro
bracket 75 cars staged for the first round. In the first round Carl
Tyree had the best light with a .505 and four cars ran dead on. Jim
Yates had a perfect .500 light in round two. The round three Dave Baker
had the best light with a .502 and one dead on run that round. In round
four Jeff Stokes had the best light with a .504 and Bryan Fox ran dead
on with an eight. In the quarterfinals Mike Gill of Washington Court
House, Ohio in his 79 Camaro got the bye run. Jeff Stokes of Dayton,
Ohio in his 68 Camaro used the better light to beat Neil Wolfe of Xenia,
Ohio in his 78 Malibu. Dave Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 70 Camaro red
lighted giving the win to Bryan Fox of Springfield, Ohio in his
Dragster. In the semi finals Fox got the bye run to the final. Stokes
ran dead on 11.153 at 120.65 on an 11.15 dial in but red lighted giving
the win to Gill. In the final Gill had the better light and got the win
light with a 10.330 at 116.26 on a 10.29 dial in. Fox ran a 10.224 at
128.14 on a 10.19 dial in.

There were 35
sportsman cars staged up in round one, Doug Caplinger had the best light
on the round with a .506. In round two Doug had the best light again
with a .504 and Terry Knight ran dead on 15.780 on a 15.78 dial in. In
round three James Browder II ran 13.860 on a 13.86. In the quarterfinals
Aaron Wolf of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 83 Mustang got the bye. Joe
Zimmer of Dayton, Ohio ran dead on in his 71 Camaro 13.974 on a 13.97 to
get by Mick Howard of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 94 Z28. Terry Knight of
Huber Heights, Ohio in his 97 Firebird used a better light to beat Phil
Borton of Urbana, Ohio in his 79 Camaro. In the semi finals Zimmer got
the bye in to the final. Wolf red lighted giving the win to Knight. In
the final Zimmer was looking for his first win in his third final this
season, Knight was trying to win his first this season for his newly
born son that was born this week. Knight got the better light with a
.517 and ran a 15.740 at 84.71 on a 15.69 dial in for the win. Zimmer
ran a 13.979 at 98.03 on a 13.95 dial in.

There was 27
motorcycles staged up for the first round, and Doug Ogilsbie had the
best light of that round with a .504 and Perry Dog Sowers ran a 9.091 on
a 9.09 dial in. In round two Brad Shellhaas ran a 9.184 on a 9.18 dial
in. In the quarterfinals Scott Sheppeard of Tipp City on his 83 Honda
got the bye run and ran a 9.841 on a 9.84 dial in. Nathan Thatcher of
Tipp City on his 76 Kawasaki got the better light and the win light over
Roger Wilhelm Jr of Urbana, Ohio on his 72 Kawasaki. Jesse B Sowers of
Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki had the better light and the win light
over Doug Ogilsbie of Medway, Ohio on his 98 Kawasaki. Tim Cooper of
Springfield, Ohio on his Kawasaki ran dead on with a 9.705 on a 9.70
dial in to beat Brad Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio on his 75 Kawasaki.
In the semi finals Sheppeard used a .509 light to get by Thatcher.
Cooper had the better light and got the win light over Sowers. In the
final both riders were looking for their first win of the season. Cooper
ran a 9.705 at 128.86 on a 9.70 dial in but red lighted giving Sheppeard
the win. Sheppeard ran a 9.848 at 128.13 on a 9.84 dial in.

There were 30
junior dragsters that staged up for round one. Ryan Jenks ran an 8.571
on an 8.57 dial in to start that round off. In round two Bryant
Fairchild had the best light of the day in juniors with a .511, and
Payton Filson ran an 8.901 on an 8.90 dial in. In the quarterfinals Ben
Browder of Fairborn, Ohio got the bye run. Bryant Fairchild of New
Carlisle, Ohio got by Brian Emory of Beavercreek, Ohio. Erik Smith of
New Carlisle, Ohio had the better light but could not run the number
giving the win to Julie Duty of Vandalia, Ohio. Payton Filson of
Fairborn, Ohio ran dead on his 8.90 dial in with an 8.907 to beat Mike
Morris of Dayton, Ohio. In the semi finals Filson got by Browder and
Fairchild red lighted Filson to Duty. In the final Duty had the better
light and got the win light her first of the season, she ran a 9.457 at
68.17 on a 9.37 dial in. Filson ran an 8.875 at 73.16 on an 8.90 dial

class Joe Mansfield of Springboro, Ohio in his 94 Mustang ran a 13.990 at
98.29 on a 13.75 dial in for his first win.
