         I know you all are tired of me saying the weather was great for racing, but it really was with temps in the low 70’s and a cool breeze. We had 300 cars and bike stage up in round one. The air was cool but the racing was hot. We had are first repeat winner in super pro Grandma does it again and a couple of first time winners.

 

        Today in super pro round one there was 128 cars staged up and we had 21 five oh bulbs with the best being a perfect .500 by Greg King. There were 17 dead on runs with the best being a 4.960 on a 4.96 dial in by Billy Back. Round two there was 11 five oh bulbs with Billy Back and Larry Irrgang both having .500 lights. There were 8 dead on’s with Terry Murray, Tim Kloffenstien and Phil Spradlin all with zero. In round three where were 6 five oh bulbs with the best of .502 by Sammy Baugh and 4 dead on’s with 5.890 on a 5.89 dial in the best for Leon Bryan. In round four the best light was Leon Bryan with a .509 and Christy Morgan-Back with a 5.181 on a 5.18. In the quarterfinals Leon Bryan of Jamestown, Ohio in his 65 Corvette ran 5.890 on a 5.89 again to beat Brent Angles of Hillsboro, Ohio in his 80 Monza who ran a 5.842 on a 5.84 dial in. Mike Ward of Moraine City, Ohio in his S-10 Truck had the better light but Doug Quillen also of Moraine City, Ohio in his 69 Mustang got the win. Ed Beyer Jr of Beavercreek, Ohio in his Cutlass red lighted giving the win to Marsha McFall of Tipp City, Ohio in her Camaro. Danny Kendall of Urbana, Ohio in his 67 Camaro beat a breaking out Billy Back of Dayton, Ohio in his 01 Racetech Dragster. In the semi finals Kendall red lighted giving the win to Quillen. McFall had the better light and beat Bryan. In the final Quillen in his first final at Kil-kare red lighted giving Grandma McFall her second win in three finals this season.

       In the pro bracket 84 cars staged up for the first round with 4 five oh bulbs and .500 by John Self 5 dead on’s with Jeff Stokes 11.070 on an 11.07 dial in the best. In round two the best light was a .508 by Mike Davis and Randy Smith 10.712 on a 10.71 dial in was the best. In round three Randy Smith .506 and Patrick Partee Jr 11.048 on an 11.04 was the best numbers. In round four Doug Caplinger .501 and Mike Davis 12.407 on a 12.40 dial in was the best. In the quarterfinals Mike Davis of Moraine City, Ohio in his Mustang perfect .500 beat Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 72 Chevelle. Danny Manning of West Carrollton, Ohio in his 69 Camaro got the win over Doug Lindsey of Washington Court House, Ohio in his Nova. Patrick Partee Jr of Xenia, Ohio in his 68 Chevelle ran an 11.046 on an 11.04 dial in to beat Randy Smith of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 73 Ventura. In the semi finals Partee Jr got the bye run. Manning had the better light and got the win over Davis. In the final both drivers was looking for their first win of the season, Partee Jr red lighted giving the win to Manning.

         In the sportsman bracket 28 cars staged up for round one with Richard Hammond with the best package with a .515 light and a 13.453 on a 13.45 dial in. In round two Joe Zimmer had a 13.916 on a 13.91 dial in for the best. In the quarterfinals Richard Hammond of Huber Heights, Ohio in his Firebird got the bye. Yolanda Spencer of Waynesville, Ohio in her 04 Towncar won a double breakout race over Joe Cloran Jr of Fairborn, Ohio in his Dodge P U. Walt Shade Jr of Riverside, Ohio in his 73 Maverick red lighted giving the win to Howard Coon of New Lebanon, Ohio in his 80 Corvette. Nathan Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 69 Mustang won a double breakout race over Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu. In the semi finals Spencer ran a 16.258 on a 16.25 dial in to beat Coon. Hammond red lighted giving the win to Baker. In the final both looking for there first win of the season, Baker had the better light and got the win.

       In the motorcycle bracket 24 bikes staged up for round one with the best light being Perry Dog Sowers .508 and Tim Cooper 10.135 on a 10.13. In round two Glen Lakins 8.672 on an 8.67 dial in was the best. In the quarterfinals David Sawyer of Springfield, Ohio on his 86 Suzuki had a .504 light and got bye Burt Exman of Englewood, Ohio on his 83 Suzuki. Larry Sagraves of Springfield, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki Beat Roger Wilhelm Jr of Urbana, Ohio on his 72 Kawasaki. Paul Herald Jr of Springfield, Ohio on his Kawasaki red lighted giving Russell Stewart of North Hampton, Ohio on his 87 Kawasaki the win. In the semi finals Sawyer got the bye run. Sagraves had a perfect .500 light but broke out giving the win to Stewart. In the final both were looking for their first win of the season, Stewart when .492 red giving Sawyer his first win of the year.

         In the junior dragster bracket we had 35 staged up in round one with Payton Filson having the best light on the day with a .503. In round two Mike Philpott had the best light with a .504. In the quarterfinals Dylan Bair of Urbana, Ohio in his 01 Jegster got the better light and the win light over Bryant Fairchild of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 98 Spitzer. Andrew Casanova of Tipp City, Ohio in his 00 Bos broke out giving the win to Jake Riley of Franklin, Ohio in his 98 Bos. Mike Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio in his 02 Spitzer got the bye run. In the semi finals Bair got the bye run. Riley got the win over Philpott. In the final Riley had the better light but Bair got the win his first of the season.

       In high School Michael Collier of Dayton, Ohio in his 90 Buick got his third win of the season with an 18.320 at 77.04 on an 18.90 dial in.
