        The last Saturday of day racing and the start of points, we had the biggest car count of the season. With the weather all around us looking like rain we made it through. Don’t for get nighttime racing starts this weekend May 1st. Gates will open at noon.

 

         In the first round of super pro Don Sherrill had the best light with a .502. Merit Royalty ran dead on 6.750 on a 6.75 dial. Seven more drivers ran dead on from 1 to 8 on the last digit. In round two Terry Terrell, Billy Rowe, and old Jon Pickering al had .500 lights. Six more drivers were dead on with 2 to 9 in the last digit. In round three Jeff Toms had the best light with a .501 and two drivers ran dead on with a 9. In round four there were four drivers that ran dead on with 2 to 5 on the last digit. In the quarterfinals Todd Cordell of Urbana, Ohio in his dragster got bye Jerry Dunkel of Kettering, Ohio in his 69 Chevelle. Jeff Toms of Clayton, Ohio in his 81 Capri used a .508 light and a dead on 6.173 on a 6.17 dial in to get bye Stephanie Beyer of Beavercreek, Ohio in her Roadster. Mike Elam of Tipp City, Ohio in his 63 Nova got the bye run. In the semi finals Todd got the bye run. Jeff ran dead on again with a 6.164 on a 6.16 dial in to take out Mike. In the final it was all Jeff has he used a .503 light and ran dead on again with a 6.161 on a 6.16 dial in. Todd ran a 4.974 at 138.04 on a 4.95 dial in.

         In the first round of pro bracket Mark Stroble had the best light with a .501. Three drivers ran dead on from 4 to 8 for the last digit. In round two Mick Pence had the best light with a .503 but lost. Dave Baker ran 10.060 on a 10.06 dial in but red lighted. Three other drivers ran dead on from 3 to 9 on the last digit. In round three Jeff Stokes ran dead on with a 2. In the quarterfinals Jeff Stokes of Riverside, Ohio his 68 Camaro used a .504 light to get bye Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his Chevelle. George Hunter of Dayton, Ohio red lighted to Mark Stroble of Springfield, Ohio in his 77 Maverick. Lance Wagner of Huber Heights in his 77 Nova red lighted to Steve Collier of Xenia, Ohio in his 70 Cuda. Shawn Stacy of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 70 Camaro won a double breakout over Keith Stewart of Urbana, Ohio in his 72 Camaro. In the semi finals Steve got the win over Jeff. Mark red lighted giving the win to Shawn who ran an 11.519 on an 11.51 dial in. In the final Shawn had the better light .517 to .534 and got the win with an 11.538 at 114.81 on an 11.51 dial in. Steve ran an 11.732 at 112.72 on an 11.71 dial in.

         In the first round of sportsman Joe Zimmer had the best light with a .502. In round to Ricky Shepherd had the best light with a .508 but lost on a breakout. In round three Rita Templin had the best light with a .508. In the quarterfinals Nathan Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 69 Mustang got the bye run. Joe Zimmer of Urbana, Ohio in his Camaro got the win over Mike McGriff of Orenonia, Ohio. Rita Templin of Greenfield, Ohio red lighted giving the win to Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 78 Malibu. In the semi finals Joe got the bye run. Doug toke out Nathan. In the final Doug got the better light and the win light with a 13.065 at 97.17 on a 13.00 dial in. Joe ran a 13.935 at 97.82 on a 13.89 dial in.

         In motorcycle the first round David Sawyer ran dead on 8.780 on an 8.78 dial. In round two Danny Oiler Sr ran 9.032 on a 9.03 dial. In the quarterfinals Burt Exman of Englewood, Ohio on his 82 Suzuki got the bye run and ran an 8.480 on an 8.48 dial. Perry Sowers of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki ran an 8.964 on an 8.96 to beat Brian Poe of Cable, Ohio on his 93 Suzuki. Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki got bye Doug Ogilsbie of Medway, Ohio on his 98 Kawasaki. Nathan Thatcher of Tipp City, Ohio on his 76 Kawasaki got the win over David Sawyer of Springfield, Ohio on his 86 Suzuki. In the semi final Burt got the better light and the win light over Danny. Perry got bye Nathan. In the final Burt had the better light and won with an 8.501 at 140.21 on an 8.48 dial in. Perry ran an 8.956 at 142.76 on an 8.94 dial in.

       In the junior dragster first round Payton Filson ran a8.931 on an 8.93 dial but red-lighted Justin Whitt ran dead on with a four. In the quarterfinals Kyle Liddy of Kettering, Ohio used an 8.538 on an 8.53 dial to get by Mike Morris of Dayton, Ohio. Julie Duty of Vandalia, Ohio used a .514 light to get by Chris Nuss of North Hampton, Ohio. Justin Whitt of Fairborn, Ohio got by Tyler Vance of New Carlisle, Ohio.  In the semi final Justin got the bye run. Kyle red lighted giving the win to Julie who ran a 9.402 on a 9.40 dial in. In the final Justin got the better light and the win light with a 7.992 at 74.73 on a 7.93 dial in. Julie ran a 9.459 at 67.19 on a 9.40 dial in.

         In the high school class David Reedy of Xenia, Ohio in his Mustang got the win on a solo with a 12.428 at 105.56 on a 12.33 dial in.
