       Ok after last weeks rainout and the on and off rains all week, it was a great weather day for racing. We had a nice breeze and it was partly cloudy it was humid in the mid point of the day but the winds cooled it back down. With two other big events going on at tracks close to us we still had a good turn out of cars and bikes.

 

         In the super pro bracket we started round one with two perfect .500 lights by Rodney Easterling and Jerry Cochran, and thirteen dead on the dial runs. In round two we had two .502 lights and six dead on runs and one was with a zero. In round three the best light was a .503 and two dead on runs. In round four .503 was the best light again and two more dead on runs and one with a zero. In the quarterfinals JR Lockhart of Riverside, Ohio in his Racetech dragster got the win when Bradley Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio in his Jegster dragster broke out. In the next pair both drivers ran dead on but Dave Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his Monza red lighted with a .496 giving the win to Ken Bigler of Beavercreek, Ohio in his Nova. Jason Ford of New Madison used a better light to get the win in his dragster over Marsha McFall of Tipp City, Ohio in her Camaro. In the semi final Bigler got the bye in to the final and ran a 6.41 on a 6.40 dial in. Ford used a .504 light to beat Lockhart who ran dead on. In the final Bigler was looking for his first win in a long time and Ford who is the defending track champion was looking for his first of the year. Bigler got the win with a .507 light and ran dead on his 6.40 dial in with a 6.400 at 107.61 Ford broke out with a 5.488 at 126.09 on a 5.49 dial in.  

                                      

         In the pro bracket round one started off with the best light of a .504 and Donnie Manning running a 10.880 on a 10.88 dial in. In round two the best light was a .505 and Michael Roberts running 11.030 on an 11.03 dial in. In round three Rich Wilson had a perfect .500 light and no dead on runs. In round four Jim Grashel had a perfect .500 light and we had one dead on. In the quarterfinals Bob Manker of Xenia, Ohio in his 57 Chevy got the better light on the win light over Jim Grashel of Columbus, Ohio in his 24 Olds. Lonnie Lindsey of Washington Court House, Ohio in his Camaro had a perfect .500 light to take out David Lowry of Dayton, Ohio in his 67 GTO. Matt Baird of West Carrollton, Ohio in his 72 Demon got the bye run. In the semi finals Manker got the bye in to the finals. Baird used a better light to get the win over Lindsey. In the final Baird had the better light and got his first win of the season with a 10.146 at 120.63 on a 10.11 dial in. Manker ran a 12.108 at 108.85 on a 12.09 dial in.

  

       In the sportsman bracket we opened round one with two dead on runs. In round two we had two dead on and runs also with one being with a zero. The same thing happen in round three. In the quarterfinals Joe Cloran Jr of Fairborn, Ohio in his 77 Plymouth S/W got the bye run. Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu used a better light to breakout Robert Stacy of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 70 Dart. In a battle of four cylinder cars Nell Forsythe of Fairborn, Ohio in her 79 Mustang got the better light and the win light over Christena Snowden of West Carrollton, Ohio in her Saturn. In the semi finals Caplinger got the bye in to the final. Forsythe used a better light to win the double breakout race over Cloran Jr. In the final Caplinger was looking for his second win in his second final of the season and Forsythe her first. Caplinger got the better light and the win with a 13.076 at 92.42 on a 13.05 dial in. Forsythe ran a 15.175 at 85.04 on a 15.22 dial in.

  

         In the motorcycle bracket we started out with Nathan Thatcher cutting a perfect .500 light in round one and two dead on runs one with a zero. In round two the best light was a .502 and it was on a losing run. In the quarterfinals Home Boy Homer England of West Chester, Ohio got the better light and won a double breakout race over Bob Nugent of Fairborn, Ohio on his Kawasaki. Russell J Stewart of North Hampton, Ohio on his Kawasaki got the better light but broke out giving the win to Dean Weaks of Fairborn, Ohio on his Suzuki. Burt Exman of Englewood, Ohio on his Suzuki had the better light but the transmission broke giving the win to Stanley Sawyer of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki. Scott Sheppeard of Tipp City on his Honda red lighted giving the win to Nathan Thatcher of Tipp City, Ohio on his Kawasaki. In the semi finals Thatcher get the better light and the win light over England. Weaks got the better light and the win light over a breaking out Sawyer. In the final it was the first final for both riders this year. Dean Weaks Granddaughter put a picture of her self on the gas tank and said she wanted to be in the winner circle picture when dean won. So I guess she was his lucky charm as he cut a perfect .500 light and ran an 11.339 at 111.37 on an 11.31 dial in for the win. Thatcher ran a 9.621 at 126.08 on a 9.64 dial in.

   

      In junior dragster it took till the second round for a dead on run. In the quarterfinals Justin Whitt of Fairborn, Ohio got the better light and the win light over Jake Browder of Fairborn, Ohio. Chris Nuss of North Hampton, Ohio used a .507 light to break out Kim Baker of Riverside, Ohio. Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek, Ohio got the win over Kyle Liddy of Kettering. Payton Filson of Fairborn, Ohio got the win over Bryant Fairchild of New Carlisle, Ohio. In the semi finals Filson had the better light and got the win over a breaking out Nuss. Sturgill had the better light and won the double breakout race over Whitt. In the final Sturgill was looking for his second win in his third final this season, and Filson was looking for his first in his second final of the season. Sturgill had the better light and ran dead on 8.490 at 75.15 on an 8.49 dial in for the win. Filson ran an 8.947 at 72.81 on an 8.98 dial in.
