Ok after Friday night’s heavy rain that called off the Speedway
racing, the day opened up as a great day for racing at the Dragway. First we
had to finish last weeks Buckeye Nationals that was called off for curfew. We
started with the semi finals of super pro with David Calmes of Medway, Ohio in
his 89 Beretta taking on Matt Antrobius of Bellbrook, Ohio in his 00 Fox
Dragster. David had the better light but Matt got the win with a 5.167 at
134.01 on a 5.15 dial in. Nathan Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 89 Mustang was
taking on Dean Mcilvain of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 97 Spitzer Dragster.
Nathan had the better light with a .505 but broke out giving the win to Dean.
In the final Matt went red with a .492 giving Dean his first win of the
season. In the pro bracket semi final Matt Peters of Fairborn in his 77 Vega
got the bye run. Steve Collier of Xenia, Ohio in his 67 Camaro red lighted
giving Shawn Stacy of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 70 Camaro the win. In the final
Matt had the better light and toke the win with a 10.333 at 123.99 on a 10.31
dial in for his first win of the season. In motorcycle it was Dave Beavers of
Urbana, Ohio on his 76 Kawasaki taking on Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio
on his Suzuki. Dave won the double breakout race for his first win of the
season.

Now with the Buckeye’s finished we started Qualifying for the quick
sixteen race and today’s bracket racing action. After two qualifying runs
Stephen Stringer of Somerset, Kentucky in his 68 Camaro was number one in the
door cars with a 4.503 at 159.63 the bump spot for the eight cars was Robbie
Jones of Jamestown, Ohio in his 63 Corvette with a 4.846 at 146.48. After two
in the open wheel it was Tom Swigart of Xenia, Ohio in his 32 Bantam with a
4.292 at 166.82 and the bump spot for eight cars was Glenn Yancey of
Waynesville, Ohio in his 98 Fritz with a 4.648 at 148.38. In the semi final
Robbie Davis of South Bloomingville, Ohio in his 02 Dragster got the win over
a broke Tom Swigart of Xenia, Ohio in his 32 Bantam. Ed Beyer Jr of
Beavercreek, Ohio in his 96 Cutlass had the better light and got the win over
Robbie Jones of Jamestown, Ohio in his 63 Corvette. In the final Beyer Jr was
looking for his first quick 16 win of the season and Davis was looking for his
second of the season. It was dead even at the light with both drivers cutting
.514 reaction times and both ran dead on with a six. Beyer Jr got the win with
a 4.646 at 153.55 on a 4.64 dial in and Davis ran a 4.486 at 152.62 on a 4.48
dial in. WOW

Now for today’s super pro 111 cars staged up for the first round there was 18 five o bulbs in round one with one perfect .500 by Mike Little and 14 dead on runs with Daryl McConnaughey running dead on with a zero with a 6.450 on a 6.45 dial in. In round two there was 9 five o bulbs with Dean Mcilvain having a perfect .500 and 3 dead on runs with the best 6.451 on a 6.45 dial in by Dean Karns Jr. In round three there was 2 five o bulbs with the best being a .502 by Donnie Gordon and 4 dead on runs with a best of 6.153 on a 6.15 dial in by Jerry Dunkel. In round four there was two five o bulbs with a best of a .502 by Matt Antrobius and 3 dead on runs with a best of 4.980 on a 4.98 dial in by Dwain Fansler. In the quarterfinals Matt Antrobius of Bellbrook, Ohio in his 00 Fox Dragster getting the bye run. Jason ford of New Madison, Ohio in his Fox Dragster running dead on 5.434 on a 5.43 dial in to beat a breaking out Jerry Dunkel of Kettering, Ohio in his 69 Chevelle. Dean Mcilvain of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 97 Spitzer Dragster used a .507 light to beat Mike Brown of Fairborn, Ohio in his 90 Morris Dragster. Dwain Fansler of Kettering, Ohio in his Dragster red lighted giving the win to Dean Howard of New Carlisle, Ohio in his 67 Nova. In the semi finals Howard had the better light and beat a breaking out Antrobius. Ford had the better light .510 to .519 and ran dead on with a 5.415 on a 5.41 to get by Mcilvain who ran a 4.862 on a 4.86 dial in. In the final Ford had a .503 light but Howard got his second win of the season.

In the pro bracket today we had 69 cars stage up for first round action
with two five o bulbs and one was perfect .500 by Brent Randall and two dead
on with a seven by Terri Emrick and Walt Shade Jr. In round two Bill Emory had
the best light with a .503 and Jason Wheatcraft ran 11.260 on an 11.26 dial
in. In round three Terry Davis had the best light with a .508 and he also ran
dead on 10.290 on a 10.29 dial in. In round four Gwayne Honeycutt had the best
light with a .502 and dead on with a zero 10.600 on a 10.60 dial in. In the
quarterfinals Walt shade Jr of Riverside, Ohio in his 68 Mustang got the bye
run. Terry Davis of Milledgeville, Ohio in his 72 Nova used a .517 light to
take the win over Gwayne Honeycutt of Urbana, Ohio in his 62 Nova. Matt Baird
of West Carrollton, Ohio in his 72 Demon used a .505 light to best Patrick
Partee Jr of Xenia, Ohio in his 68 Chevelle. In the semi final Baird on the
bye run had a perfect .500 light and ran a near perfect 10.002 on a 10.00 dial
in. Shade Jr ran 11.293 on an 11.29 dial in to get by Davis. In the final it
was all Baird with the better light and a 10.006 on a 10.00 dial in for his
second win of the season.

In the sportsman bracket we had 39 cars stage up for the first round
with Gary Knight having the best light .504 and Brian Collier dead on 13.001
on a 13.00 dial in. In round two the best was Nell Forsythe with a 15.075 on a
15.07 dial in. In round three it was Harold Young with a 13.301 on a 13.30
dial in. In the quarterfinals Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu
got the bye run. Dennis Young of Riverside, Ohio in his 71 Camaro had the
better light and best a breaking out Dave Freauf of Beavercreek, Ohio in his
78 Mustang. Yolanda Spencer of Waynesville, Ohio in her 04 Mazda used a .517
light to get by Harold Young of Riverside, Ohio in his 65 GTO. In the semi
final Young got the bye run. Caplinger had the better light and beat a
breaking out Spencer. In the final Caplinger red lighted giving the win to
Young for his third win of the season.

In motorcycle we had 26 bikes stage up for the first round with Danny
Oiler Sr running the best with an 8.796 on an 8.79 dial in. In round two Mike
McGrath had the best light with a .504 and Perry dog Sowers ran a 9.063 on a
9.06 dial in. In the quarterfinals Sam Cotterman of Tremont City, Ohio on his
81 Suzuki got the bye run. Perry dog Sowers of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki
red lighted giving the win to Brian Poe of Cable, Ohio on his 96 Suzuki. Russ
Withem of Fairborn, Ohio on his 78 Kawasaki won the double break out race over
Mike McGrath of Dayton, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki. Scott Sheppeard of Tipp City,
Ohio on his 01 Honda used a .501 light to win a double break out race over
Brad Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio on his 75 Kawasaki. In the semi final Poe
used a .518 light to beat a breaking out Withem. Sheppeard had a .512 light
and ran a 9.758 on a 9.75 dial in to beat Cotterman. In the final Poe red
lighted giving the win to Sheppeard it was his second win of the season.

In junior dragster 34 cars staged up for the first round and we had two
perfect .500 lights by Robbie Kocol and then by Killian Fansler. In round two
the best run was Ryan Jenks with an 8.726 on an 8.72 dial in. In round three
Brian Cripps had a .508 light and Andi Terrell ran a 10.557 on a 10.55 dial
in. In the quarterfinals Brian Cripps of Miamisburg, Ohio in his Briggs got
the bye run. Ryan Jenks of Jamestown, Ohio in his Jegster had the better light
and got the win over Andi Terrell of New Carlisle, Ohio in her 96 Jegster.
Andrew Casanova of Tipp City, Ohio in his 00 Bos had the better light and beat
Payton Filson of Fairborn, Ohio in his 01 Half. In the semi final Casanova got
the bye run. Cripps broke out giving the win to Jenks. In the final Casanova
red lighted giving the win to Jenks.

Camaro ran a 15.127 at 90.89 on a 14.90 dial in for the win.
