Well the racing gods
smile on us this week. With the threat of rains or storms all day we
were way down on cars for are first night time race, and first super
Saturday event of the season. And about five minutes after the last race
the skies opened up and it poured down the rain. With the car count way
down the owner made a promise and paid out the advertised payout WOW.
On super Saturday’s
the winner get $1,500. In the first round Dave Betts of Mcarther, Ohio
in his dodge had the best light with a .504. Brent Angles of Hillsboro,
Ohio in his Monza ran dead on with 5.880 on a 5.88 on their was a total
of nine other dead on runs from 1 to 9 on the last digit. In round two
there were two dead on runs. In round three there was only one dead on
run. In the quarterfinals John King of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 69
Corvette got the bye run. Tony McFall of Tipp City, Ohio in his 85
Firebird red lighted giving the win to Todd Cordell of Urbana, Ohio in
his 93 Dragster. Sammy Baugh of Springfield, Ohio in his 91 Dragster ran
a 4.988 on a 4.98 dial in to beat last week’s winner Jeff Toms of
Clayton, Ohio in his 81 Capri. Dave Caplinger ran a 6.591 on a 6.59 dial
in to get by a red lighting Jim Emrick of Tipp City, Ohio in his 69
Camaro. In the semi final Todd toke the win over Jim with a 5.015 on a
5.01 dial in to move into his second straight final. Dave used a .505
light advance over a broken Sammy. In the final Todd was hoping to go
one round more than last week and get the win. But Dave used a .511
light and ran a 6.608 at 102.95 on a 6.58 dial in for the win. Todd ran
a 5.015 at 136.86 on a 5.00 dial in.

In the first round of
pro Bill Emory of Beavercreek, Ohio in his Camaro had the best light
with a .507. In round two Danny Manning of West Carrollton, Ohio in his
69 Camaro had a perfect .500 light and two cars ran dead on their dial
in. In the quarterfinals James Sanders of Riverside, Ohio in his 85
Firebird got the bye run. Mike Gill of Washington Court House, Ohio in
his 79 Camaro used a .515 light to get around Dave Cox of Washington
Court Hose, Ohio in his 72 Nova who ran dead on. Jeff Stokes of
Riverside, Ohio in his 68 Camaro got the better light and the win light
over Keith Stewart of Urbana, Ohio in his 72 Camaro. In the semi final
Jeff got the bye in to the final. Mike red lighted giving the win to
James. In the final James had the better light and got the win with an
11.558 at 108.72 on an 11.54 dial in. Jeff ran an 11.098 at 120.03 on an
11.09 dial in.

In the sportsman
bracket round one Rodney Amerine of South Bloomingville, Ohio cut a
perfect .500 light and lost. Jason Farquer of Hillsboro, Ohio ran dead
on with a nine. In the quarterfinals Rob Stacy of New Carlisle, Ohio in
his 70 Dart had a .511 light but broke out giving the win to Dennis
Young of Dayton, Ohio in his 71 Camaro. Jason Farquer of Hillsboro, Ohio
in his 93 Firebird got the win over Walt Shade Jr of Riverside, Ohio in
his 73 Maverick. Danny Oiler Jr of Springfield, Ohio in his Mustang beat
Joe Zimmer of Dayton, Ohio in his Camaro. In the semi final Danny got
the bye run in to the final. Dennis won the double breakout race over
Jason. In the final Dennis got the better light and the win light.
Dennis ran a 13.092 at 101.33 on a 13.09 dial in. Danny ran a 13.591 at
100.23 on a 13.59 dial in.

In the motorcycle class
round two we had to dead on the dial runs. In the quarterfinals Brad
Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio on his 75 Kawasaki got the bye run. Burt
Exman of Englewood, Ohio on his Suzuki used a .510 light to beat Scott
Sheppeard of Tipp City, Ohio on his Honda. Perry Sowers of Springfield,
Ohio on his Suzuki beat David Sawyer of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki.
In the semi final Perry got the bye run and moved two his second
straight final. Burt used the better light to beat Brad and it will be a
rematch of last weeks final. In the final Perry had the better light but
Burt got the win for the second straight week and third win of the
season. Burt ran an 8.596 at 135.08 on an 8.55 dial in. Perry ran a
9.080 at 140.65 on a 9.00 dial in.

In the first round of
junior dragster Julie Duty of Vandalia, Ohio ran dead on her dial in. In
the quarterfinals Dylan Bair of Urbana, Ohio ran dead on 9.665 on a 9.66
dial in to beat last week’s winner Justin Whitt of Fairborn, Ohio.
Ryan Jenks of Jamestown, Ohio beat a breaking out Chris Nuss of North
Hampton, Ohio. Ceslie Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio used a .502 light
to beat Mike Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio. In the semi final Dylan got
the bye run. Ceslie red lighted to Ryan. In the final Ryan got his
second win of the season with an 8.630 at 75.49 on an 8.61 dial in.
Dylan ran a 9.702 at 59.76 on a 9.66 dial in.

In the high school
class David Reedy of Xenia, Ohio in his Mustang got his second straight
win of the season. Nathan King of New Carlisle, Ohio in his Caddy red
lighted. David ran a 12.599 at 99.79 on a 12.49 dial in. Nathan ran a
16.428 at 78.10 on a 16.44 dial in.
