       Well it was another great weather day for racing, after being rained out last week. It was the first quick sixteen race of the season and everybody was looking to see if the track records would be broken again. The track record for the open wheel cars is a 3.869 ET and 188.19 mph, the door car record is 4.646 ET and 154.31 mph. We started with the door cars and Jeff Armstrong broke the ET record with a 4.618. Then Jim Pauckner reset both ends of the record with 4.616 at 155.69. Then in the final qualifying Dean Stevens broke the ET mark with a 4.595. In open wheel the records where not broken low ET was 3.945 and top speed was 182.20 by Adam Trauth who was the number one qualifier. In the semi finals Matt Haywood of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 02 Bos Dragster red lighted with a .489 giving the win to Robbie Davis of South Bloomingville, Ohio in his 02 Dragster. Greg Burba of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 88 Beretta used a .506 light to win a double breakout race over Robbie Jones of Jamestown, Ohio in his 63 Corvette. In the final Davis had the better light and ran a 4.502 at 146.57 to get the win over Burba who ran a 4.696 at 150.47

        98 cars staged up in the first round of Super Pro tonight, and the best light in the round was a .501 by Aaron Hart and he lost. David Calmes ran 5.930 on a 5.93 dial in for the best in round one. In round two John Cook had a perfect .500 light and Dean Howard, Tom Coil and Bob Burris all three ran dead on with a zero. In round three Randy Stutz had the best light with a .501 and John Landis ran 6.121 on a 6.12 dial in. In round four Mark Shepherd had the best light with a .503 and Merrit Royalty ran 7.600 on a 7.60 dial in. In the quarterfinals David Calmes of Medway, Ohio in his 89 Beretta red lighted giving the win to John Cook of West Chester, Ohio in his 79 Camaro. John Landis Jr of Miamisburg, Ohio in his Chevette red lighted giving the win to Merrit Royalty of Middletown, Ohio in his 79 Monte Carlo. Leon Bryan of Jamestown, Ohio in his 65 Corvette got the bye run. Jay Fedkow of Xenia, Ohio in his 96 Dragster red lighted giving Mark Shepherd of Huber Heights in his 02 Undercover Dragster the win. In the semi finals Shepherd got the better light and the win light over Royalty. Cook had the better light and the win over Bryan. In the final both drivers where looking for there first win of the season here at Kil-Kare. Shepherd ran a 5.024 at 134.37 on a 5.02 dial in for the win Cook ran a 6.215 at 109.96 on a 6.21 dial in.   

             

        In the pro bracket we started with 79 cars in round one and had two perfect .500 lights, one won and one lost. Chris Parriman broke out and lost and John Pickrell won with his. Donnie Manning ran a 10.756 on a 10.75 for the closest to the dial in. In round two Alan Flora had the best light with a .501 and Doug Lindsey ran an 11.740 on an 11.74 dial in. In round three Vince Moore had a .504 light and Alan Flora ran a 12.922 on a 12.92 dial in. In round four Rich Wilson had it all a .500 light and ran a 10.841 on a 10.84 dial in. In the quarterfinals Rich Wilson of Kettering, Ohio in his 83 S-10 red lighted giving the win to Mike L Hurless of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 72 Nova. James Sanders of Riverside, Ohio in his 85 Firebird used a .507 light to beat Bob Templin of Greenfield, Ohio in his 68 Camaro. Alan flora of Tipp City, Ohio in his 70 Camaro got the bye. In the semi final Hurless got the bye ran. Sanders had the better light and beat Flora. In the final Sanders was looking for his second win this season and Hurless is first. Sanders red lighted giving Hurless his first win of the season. 

              

       In the sportsman class 29 cars started the round with Christina Parriman with best light of the round with a .525 and Dennis Young running a 13.086 on a 13.08 dial in. In the second round Terry Knight had the best light with a .504, Nathan Baker and Dennis Young ran dead on with a three. In the quarterfinals Nathan Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 69 Mustang had the better light and beat Howard Ledford of Kettering, Ohio in his 99 Mustang. Aaron Wolf of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 83 Mustang had the better light and beat out Carl Thomas of Kettering, Ohio in his 65 Mustang. Mike McGriff of Oregonia, Ohio in his 91 Mustang red lighted giving the win to Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu. Dennis Young of Riverside, Ohio in his 71 Camaro got the better light but lost to Terry Knight of Huber Heights, Ohio in his 97 Firebird. In the semi final Knight red lighted giving the win to Wolf. Caplinger red lighted to Baker. In the final Wolf had the better light and won a double breakout race with a 13.532 at 94.14 on a 13.55 dial in Baker ran a 13.170 at 101.11 on a 13.22 dial in.    

          

       In the Motorcycle bracket there was 27 bikes in the first round with Brad Shellhaas having the best light of a .509. In round two the best light was Danny Oiler Sr with a .504 and Wes Johnson ran a 10.005 on a 10.00 dial in. In the quarterfinals David sawyer of Springfield, Ohio on his 86 Suzuki had the better light but lost to Larry Sagraves also of Springfield, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki. Gregg Dixon of Urbana, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki had the better light and won over Brad Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio on his 75 Kawasaki. In another battle of Springfield, Ohio riders Paul Herald Jr on his Kawasaki had the better light with a .508 but Perry Dog Sowers on his Suzuki got the win with a 9.084 on a 9.08 dial in. Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki got the bye run. In the semi finals Sowers got the better light with a .511 but Oiler Sr got the win with an 8.788 on an 8.78 dial in. Dixon broke giving the win to Sagraves. In the final Oiler Sr was looking for back-to-back wins and his third of the season Sagraves was looking for his first in his second final of the year. Oiler Sr got the win with a .507 light and ran an 8.864 at 135.10 on an 8.78 dial in to Sagraves 10.050 at 125.63 on a 10.03 dial in. 

          

       For a last minute decision to run the junior dragster with no points when they were not on the schedule for tonight we had 16 in the first round. In the quarterfinals Mike Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio in his 02 Spitzer red lighted giving the win to Ryan Jenks of Jamestown, Ohio in his Jegster. Kyle Short of Trenton, Ohio in his 00 Spitzer had the best light of the night with a .511 and got the win over Brian Emory of Beavercreek, Ohio. Matt Spradlin of Springfield, Ohio in his 00 Spitzer red lighted giving the win to Ceslie Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio in her 00 Bos. Justin Whitt of Fairborn, Ohio in his 04 Half red lighted giving the win to Nick Roberts of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 00 Bos. In the semi final Short red lighted to Roberts. Shellhaas had the better light and beat Jenks. In the final Shellhaas had the better light but Roberts got his first win of the season.

 

      In high school Michael collier got his second win of the season in his 90 Buick with an 18.216 at 74.86 on an 18.40 dial in.
