         Well week two of the daylight racing action under clear skies and bright sun. The car count was up a little more this week as the cars start to come out for the new season. Because the car count was up so was the payout. We have one more week before the points start. And two weeks before night racing starts.

 

        In super pro we had a perfect run in round two when Leon Bryan of Jamestown, Ohio in his 65 Corvette ran a 5.880 on a 5.88 dial in with a .500 light. And Leon cut a perfect .500 light in round three but didn’t run dead on. In the quarterfinals Billy Back of Dayton, Ohio in his Dragster got the win when Todd Cordell of Urbana, Ohio red lighted in his Dragster. Jerry Dunkel of Kettering, Ohio in his 69 Chevelle red lighted giving Ken Coyle of Riverside, Ohio in his Dragster the win. Marsha McFall of Tipp City, Ohio in her 67 Camaro used a .501 light to get by Rich Evans of Xenia, Ohio in his 65 Mustang. And Leon Bryan got the bye run. Marsha moved in to the final with a win over Billy and Ken moved in with a win over Leon. In the final Ken got the better light and the win light. Ken had a .522 to a .541 over Marsha and ran a 5.371 at 127.46 on a 5.34 dial in. Marsha ran a 6.719 at 100.70 on a 6.69 dial in.

Do to car count Pro & Sportsman was ran as a combo bracket again this week. In the quarterfinals it was Brett Randall of Xenia, Ohio in his 69 Camaro red lighting to Doug Honsted of Dayton, Ohio in his 67 Nova. James Sanders of Riverside in his 85 Firebird with a .502 light but breaking out to Dave Baker of Xenia in his 70 Camaro Phil Borton of Urbana, Ohio in his Camaro red lighted to Rick Shepherd of Dayton, Ohio in his 74 Nova. Richard Hammond of Huber Heights, Ohio in his Grand Prix red lighted to Mike Gill of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 79 Camaro. In the semi finals Rick red lighted to Dave and Doug got the win over Mike. In the final Dave red lighted with a .480 giving the win to Doug. Doug ran a 10.829 at 121.64 on a 10.81 dial in for the win. Dave ran a 10.101 at 133.59 on a 10.07 dial in.

            In pro motorcycle quarterfinals Burt Exman of Englewood, Ohio on his Suzuki got the win over Nathan Thatcher of Tipp City, Ohio on his Kawasaki. Dave Beavers of Urbana, Ohio on his Kawasaki beat Russell Stewart of Springfield, Ohio on his Kawasaki. Bob Nugent of Fairborn, Ohio got the bye run in to the semi finals on his Kawasaki. In the semi finals Burt Exman got the bye run in to the final. Bob used a .505 light to get by Dave to move in to his second final of the season after winning last week. In the final Burt used a .503 light to take the win with a dead on 8.583 at 141.55 on an 8.58 dial in. Bob ran a 9.879 at 129.67 on a 9.88 dial in.

          In the junior dragster quarterfinals Julia Duty of Vandalia, Ohio had a great.507 light but broke out giving the win to Mike Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio. Payton Filson of Fairborn, Ohio got the win over Tyler Vance of New Carlisle, Ohio. Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek, Ohio took out Matt Spradlin of Springfield, Ohio. And Ryan Jenks of Jamestown, Ohio beat Emily Kathe of Xenia, Ohio. In the semi finals Ryan got by a tire spinning Michael and Payton beat Mike. In the final Ryan was hoping his season wasn’t like last year when he was runner up five times before winning. In his first final this year he got the win when Payton red lighted. Ryan ran an 8.616 at 76.28 on an 8.57 dial in. Payton ran an 8.879 at 73.39 on an 8.90 dial in.
