XENIA – Super Saturday at Kil-Kare Dragway proved to super indeed, as 53 pro motorcycles staged up to compete in the first Doug Oglesbie Memorial race.

There were seven of those bikes left at the quarterfinal, where Michael Hall of Norwood picked up the double break out win over Brian Poe of Cable. Nathan Thatcher of Dayton ran right on his 9.08 dial in for the win over Dave Beavers of Urbana and Dean Weaks of  Fairborn ran an 11.34 on his 11.31 dial in for the win over Ron Saint of Grove City. Travis Farley of Columbus got the bye run.

In the semifinal, Thatcher broke out and Weaks went to the final; Hall grabbed a .50 light and went to the final over Farley. The final round was a double break out, with the victory and the top prize going to Weaks.

The super pro quarter final, Edgewater track champ Mark Griffith of Huber Heights ran his 5.11 dial in for the win over Wayne Angell of Fairborn, who had a .50 light. Greg Kain of Kettering picked up a win over Tony McFall of Tipp City. McFall nailed his 5.65 dial in, but Kain had the better light. Jeff Kuhn of Beavercreek won his round against Ken Toler of Huber Heights and JR Lockhart of Dayton got the bye run.

In the semifinal, Kain ran a 5.93 on a 5.92 dial in with a .50 light, opponent Kuhn broke out. Lockhart ran dead on his dial in of 5.21, his opponent Griffith broke out.

In the final, Kain broke out and Lockhart went to the winner’s circle.

The bracket II pro class had 62 cars staged up for the first round. The quarterfinal rounds saw Steve Collier of Xenia pick up the double break out win over Gwayne Honeycutt of Urbana and Rich Wilson of Kettering earn a win over Gary Pund of Fairborn. Dave Baker of Xenia caught a red light sending Doug Caplinger, also of Xenia to the semis. Jason Wheatcraft of Jamestown got the bye run.

In the semis, Wheatcraft picked up a win over Caplinger and Collier got the double break out win over Wilson. The final went to Collier, who ran 10.01 on a 10.00 dial in with a .50 light.

In sportsman quarterfinals, Rickard Hammond of West Milton broke out but one his round after opponent Gary Knight of Dayton redlighted. Paul Allen of Kettering got the win against Mike McGriff of Oregonia and Dennis Young of Kettering went to the semifinal after Judy Partida of Beavercreek redlighted. Doug Caplinger of Xenia broke out but won after Nathan Baker, also of Xenia, tripped a red light.

In the semifinal, Allen broke out and Young moved on to the final; Caplinger moved on over Hammond. The final round was picked up by Caplinger, whose .50 light sent him to the winner’s circle.

 

In Junior Dragster quarterfinals, Shawn Pitts of London grabbed a .50 light and the win over Brittany Adams of Beavercreek, Chris Nuss’s .50 light sent him to the semis over Julie Duty of Vandalia. Ryan Jenks of  Jamestown was his round against Matt Spradlin of Springfield and Emily Kathe of Xenia got he bye run.

The semi final rounds saw Nuss move on to the final over Pitts and Kathe get sent to the final after Jenks redlighted.

The final round saw Kathe break out and Nuss win the round.

 

High school semi final rounds had Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek pick up a win over Andi Terrell of New Carlisle, Aaron Sprauer got the bye run. Sprauer won the final round and the trip to the winner’s circle.
