XENIA – Finishing up a full day of racing by 10 p.m., Kil-Kare Dragway had a perfect day for weather, racing, and a few new winners as well. In super pro quarter finals, Luke Williams of Dayton got the double break-out win over Dale Morris of Tipp City; Jason Cook of Springfield picked up a win over Ken Bigler of Beavercreek and Walt Shade Jr. of Xenia got a .50 light and won his round against Christy Morgan-Back of New Carlisle. The semi final round had Williams break out and Cook win he trip to the final, Shade got the bye run. In the final, Shade broke out but Cook redlighted making it Shade’s trip to the winner’s circle.
In bracket II pro quarters, John Bosier of Sabina got the double break out win over Mike Hurless of Washington Courthouse. Mike Gill, also of Washington of Courthouse, got the win after Paul Quillen Jr. of West Carrollton broke out. Phil Bagnard of Englewood also broke out of his run, sending Shawn Stacy of Beavercreek on the to semis and Michael Roberts of Huber Heights got the bye run. In the semis, Stacy ran dead on his dial in of 11.12 for the win over Bosier and Gill got the win over Roberts. For the final, Stacy caught a red light and Gill got the win.
In the sportsman bracket, quarterfinalist Rob Stacy of New Carlisle broke out sending Judy Partida of Beavercreek to the next round. Ricky Shepherd of Dayton got the double break out win over Richard Hammond of West Milton; Harold Young of Riverside won his round against Walt Shade Jr. of Xenia and Joe Zimmer of Dayton redlighted sending Doug Caplinger og Xenia to the next round. In the semis, Shepherd broke out but moved on to the final after young tripped the red light and Caplinger picked up the win light over Partida.
The pro motorcycle quarterfinals had Scott Sheppeard of Tipp City getting the win over Jody Wogoman of Xenia, Burt Exman of Englewood broke out but opponent Thomas Toler of New Carlisle redlighted sending Exman to the semis. Roger Wilhelm Jr. of Urbana also caught a red light, sending Dave Beavers, also of Urbana to the next round. Bob Nugent of Trotwood got the bye run. In the semis, Sheppeard’s run of 9.86 on a 9.83 dial in was good enough to KO Exman, and Beavers’s dead on run of 9.86 secured him in the final while Nugent redlighted. In the final round, it was Beavers for the win running a 9.88 on a 9.85 dial in to Sheppeard’s 10.02, also on a 9.85.
In junior dragster, Lacy Emory of Beavercreek got a quarterfinal win over Taylor Manning of West Carrolton. Ryan Jenks of Jamestown ran 8.49 on his 8.48 dial in for the win over Matt Spradlin of Springfield and Emily Kathe won her round against Brian Emory of Beavercreek after Emory redlighted. In the semis, Jenks got the double break out win over Kathe and Emory got the bye run. In the final, Emory got the better light and the win over Jenks.
The high school quarterfinals had newcomer Joel Spitsraugle of McComb get the double break out win over Sam Bunch of Beavercreek; Andi Terrell of New Carlisle went to the semis after Aaron Sprauer of Kettering redlighted and Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek got the bye run. The semi final round had Spitsraugle with the bye run and Sturgill scoring a win over Terrell. In the final, Spitsraugle picked up the double break win and the win for the day. This Saturday the Roberts Cadillac and Beyer Trailer Sales Quick 8 returns, gates open at noon.
