XENIA, Ohio – Early morning rains went away in time to get Saturday’s racing in at Kil-Kare Dragway, with a few drivers posting first time wins for the season and a few that keep repeating their trips to the winner’s circle. In bracket I super pro, quarter final results had Christy Morgan-Back of New Carlisle picking up a win over Alan Fetters of Laura. Fetters broke out, as did James Emrick of Tipp City in his run against Jay Fedkow of Xenia. Fedkow ran dead on his 5.47 dial in. dean Karns of Fairborn got the bye run. In the semifinal, Karns redlighted sending on Fedkow to the final; Morgan-Back got the bye run. For the final round, it was Fedkow’s win on the reaction, with a .523. Morgan-Back’s was .532.
In the pro quarterfinal, Kenny Long of Springfield picked up a win over Kerry Howell of Kettering; Neil Wolfe won his round against Cammie Sherril of Springfield. Dave Baker of Xenia broke out, but picked up the win after Rich Wilson of Kettering redlighted. Bill Livesay of Fairborn got the bye run. In the semi final, Wolfe won his round with a 10.36 on his 10.33 dial in, Baker ran a 10.21 on a 10.25. Livesay was the other semifinal winner, with a .528 reaction to Long’s .579. The final run belonged to Livesay, who ran dead on his 10.67 dial in. Wolfe ran 10.34 on his 10.33.
Quarterfinals for bracket III sportsman saw Yolanda Spencer of Waynesville move to the semis after Brian Collier broke out, Rob Stacy of New Carlisle broke out but his Enon opponent redlighted putting Stacy in the next round. Mark Moore picked up a win light after Gary Knight of Dayton redlighted and David Freauf of Beavercreek got the bye run. For the semi final, Spencer moved on after Freauf redlighted and Stacy picked up the double break win over Moore. In the final, it was Spencer’s break out sending Stacy to the winner’s circle, he ran a 12.63 on a 12.59 dial in.
Pro motorcycle quarterfinals had Perry Sowers of Springfield win his round against Mike McGrath of Dayton; Chance Russell, also of Dayton, got the better light in his run against Burt Exman of Englewood. Brad Shellhaas of Springfield got eh win over dean Weaks of Fairborn. In the semifinal, Shellhaas picked up his win to the final round over Sowers and Russell got the bye run. Russell won his third final round this season, running a 9.41 on a 9.38 dial in. Shellhaas ran 9.09 on a 9.05.
The high school quarterfinal had Mikey Collier of Dayton won the double break out round against Austin Garrett of Wapakonetta. Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek won over Jack Dove, also of Wapakonetta and Brian Hurst of Fairborn ran dead on his 16.85 dial in for the win over Ryan Burba of Beavercreek. In the semi final, Collier broke out and Sturgill ran a 16.46 on a 16.45 dial in for the win; Hurst got the bye run. In the final round, it was Sturgill for the win.
Junior Dragster quarters included Chris Nuss of North Hampton picking up a won over Brittany Adams of Beavercreek; Justin Whitt of Fairborn won his round against Brian Emory of Beavercreek and Julie Duty of Vandalia won her round against Ryan Jenks of Jamestown. In the semi finals, Nuss moved on to the final with an 8.66 on an 8.63 dial in after opponent Whitt redlighted; Duty go the bye run. In the final, Nuss had to settle for the runner up spot after a nonfunctioning taillight disqualified his win. Duty, in her first win of the season, ran dead on her 8.80 dial in.
