XENIA - The final points race at Kil-Kare Dragway is now complete, with some minor shuffling of the standings the team is now in place for Indy. The super pro quarter finals, Matt Phillips of Centerville picked up a win and a .50 light against Jay Fedkow of Xenia; Dean McIlvain of New Carlisle won his round against Jerry Cochran of Springfield and Greg Kain of Fairmont ran dead on his 6.12 dial in for the win against Tim Louderback of Dayton. In the semifinal, Kain got the double break out win against McIlvain and Phillips got the bye run. For the final, Phillips picked up a .50 light but Kain got the win repeating his dead on run, this time with a 6.11 dial in.
In pro quarters, Brett Randall of Xenia got the win in his round against Bryan Fox of Springfield; Doug Caplinger of Xenia broke out, giving the win light to Mike Gill of Washington Courthouse, who ran dead on his 10.41 dial in and Michael Roberts of huber Heights also ran dead on with a 10.50 dial in to win his round agains Rob Crider of Kettering. John Engle of Xenia got the bye run. In the semis, Engle broke out of his run sending Randall to the final and Gill won the round over Roberts. In the final round, Randall picked up the double breakout run for the bracket II win.
In sportsman, the quarterfinal results included Walt Shade Jr. of Xenia getting the double break out win over Howard Ledford of Kettering; Brian Collier of Xenia won his round against Mike Walter of Trotwood and Nathan Baker of Xenia broke out of his run, but got the win light after Wayne Richardson of Xenia redlighted. Phil Borton of Urbana got the bye run. In the semis, it was Borton who tripped the red light sending Baker on to the final and Collier broke out against Shade, who ran dead on his 13.01 dial in. In the final round, Shade broke out and Baker picked up the bracket win.
Pro motorcycle quarterfinals were marred with break outs and red lights; Dean Weaks of Fairborn won his round after Steve Stickey of Xenia broke out. Chance Russell of Dayton redlighted sending David Sawyer of Springfield to the semis and Burt Exman of Englwood broke out but moved on after opponent Roger Wilhelm Jr. of Urbana redlighted. Russ Withem got the bye run. Two clean runs in the semis placed Withem in the final over Exman, and Sawyer won his round over Weaks. In the final, it was Withem who broke out and Sawyer got the win, running dead on his 8.78 dial in for the win.
The junior dragster quarters, Brian Emory of Beavercreek broke out but moved on after Ciera Philpot of Waynesville redlighted. Liz Miller of Nicholasville, Ky., picked up a win over Dylan Bair of Urbana. Chris Nuss got the bye run. In the semis, Emory got the bye run and Miller got the won over Nuss, after he caught a red light. In the final, Emory ran dead on his 7.90 dial in but Miller got the better light and picked up the win.
High School quarters included Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek picking up the double break out win over Brian Hurst of Fairborn; Jason Parriman of Dayton broke out his run giving Sam Bunch of Beavercreek the win and the trip to the semis and Andi Terrell got herself a double break out win. Ryan Burba of Beavercreek redlighted sending on Mikey Collier. In the semi final round, Bunch got the win over Terrell and Sturgill won his round against Collier. In that final, Bunch took it out from underneath Sturgill after Sturgill broke out. This Saturday is a Super Saturday, gates open noon. Adult admission $10, kids free.
