Kil-Kare Dragway October 7, 2006- Over 250 Cars were present for racing today, with the weather warm and sunny, it would be a great day for drag racing. In Super Pro Quarterfinals it was Bill Burlisle against Brett Cottle. Burlisle dialed a 5.80 to the 6.52 of Cottle. Burlisle cut a redlight moving Cottle on to the next round. Up next was Jerry Dunkle against Jason Ford. Dunkle dialed a 4.88 to the 5.19 of Ford. Dunkle cut a .503 light, however Ford ran dead on with a 5.191 run for the win light. Las t pair for the quarters was Dave Caplinger and Roger Taylor. Caplinger got a redlight, and that moved Taylor on to the next round. In the Semifinals it was Brett Cottle and Jason Ford paired up for the first run. Cottle cut a .507 run, and once again Ford ran dead on this time a 5.197 for the win light. Roger Taylor had the Bye to the Finals to face Ford. In the Finals it was Taylor dialing in a 4.95 to the 5.19 of Ford. At the tree Ford cut a Redlight, which made Roger Taylor the winner in Super Pro. In Pro Quarterfinals it was Rob Crider against Joe Abstons. Crider dialed a 10.30 to the 11.38 of Abstons. At the tree it was Crider with a .506 for the better light, Abston broke out giving Crider the winning 10.341 run. The next pair up was Lonnie Lindsey and Gwayne Honeycutt. Lindsey dialed in an 11.02 to the 10.07 of Honeycutt. At the tree it would be a .508 for Honeycutt to get the advantage. A double breakout would make Gwayne Honeycutt the winner with a 10.069 run. Up next was Mike Hurless and Dwight Fox. Hurless dialed a 10.26 to the 9.80 of Fox. Hurless got the advantage at the starting line with a .542 reaction time. At the quarter mile finish line, it would be a 10.303 run for Hurless to get the win light. In the semifinals it was Gwayne Honeycutt and Rob Crider paired up. Honeycutt dialed a 10.06 to the 10.31 of Crider. Crider cut a .4999 redlight, and that moved Honeycutt to face Mike Hurless, who had the bye, in the final round. In the finals it would be Hurless dialing a 10.24 to the 10.07 of Honeycutt. Hurless would have the better light with a .549 reaction time. As the pair went to the finish line it was Hurless with the win light running a 10.262 Honeycutt broke out. Sportsman quarterfinals saw Ronnie Evans and Harold Young stage for the first pair. Evans dialed a 13.22 to the 13.13 of Young. Evans pulled a red light and the moved Young to the next round. The next pair was Matt Barrett against Howard Ledford. Barrett dialed a 13.66 to the 13.41 of Ledford. Barrett had the better reaction time with a .582 and got the double breakout win with a 13.636 run. Doug Caplinger got the bye into the next round. In the semifinals it would be Matt Barrett against Doug Caplinger. Barrett would dial a 13.62 to the 12.00 of Caplinger. On the reaction time battle it would be Barrett with a .536 advantage at the start. Once again a double breakout win, this time for Matt Barrett, with a 13.616 run. Harold Young had the bye into the finals! In the Finals it was Barrett dialing a 13.60 to the 13.10 of Young. The pair left the tree with Barrett recording the better reaction time with a .580. At the finish line it was a 13.624 run for the win for Matt Barrett. In Pro Bike quarterfinals it was Dave Beavers to face Glen Lakins. Beavers would dial a 9.80 to the 8.30 of Lakins. Lakins cut a .526 for the better light, but the Beav would get the win with a 9.833
pass. Chance Russel was up next to face Rick Haupt. The dial for Russell was a 9.38 to the 8.65 of Haupt. At the Tree it would be a .5009 for Russell for the advantage, but he broke out making Haupt the wiiner with an 8.669 run. Brad
Shellhaas had the bye run into the semifinals. In the finals it was Brad Shellhaas to face Dave Beavers. Shellhaas would dial a 9.04 to the 9.82 of Beavers. Shellhaas pulled away with a redlight, making Beavers the winner in Pro Bike! Junior Dragster Action saw Walt Crum III stage next to James Smith. Crum dialed a 9.10 and Smith an 8.91. Crum went red that moved Smith to the next round. Up next was Shayla Babb against Danielle Kendall. Babb dialed an 11.58 to the 10.92 of Kendall. Kendall saw the better reaction time with a .544 but broke out. that moved Babb to the next round. Up next was Julie Duty and Ceslie Shellhaas. Duty dialed a 7.90 to the 9.10 of Shellhaas. At the tree it would be Duty with a .524 for the better reaction time. At the eighth mile it would be a win light for Shellhaas with a 9.187 run. Up next was Brian Cripps and Zach Wolfe. Cripps dialed a 7.98 to the 8.70 of Wolfe. Wolfe pulled a redlight, and that moved Cripps to the next round. In the semifinals it was Cripps against Smith. Cripps dialed an 8.06 to the 8.90 pf Smith. At the tree it would be Cripps taking the advantage with a .537 light. As the pair went to the finish line it was Cripps with the win light on an 8.177 run. Up next was Shayla Babb against Ceslie Shellhaas. Babb dialed an 11.63 to the 9.16 of Shellhaas. At the tree it would be a .650 for Shellhaas that would give her the advantage, along with a 9.280 run for the win light. In the finals it was James Smith against Ceslie Shellhaas. Smith dialed his dragster to an 8.94 and Sheelhaas to a 9.21. at the tree it was a .608 for Sheelhaas as the better of the two. Eighth mile win light would come on for Ceslie Shellhaas with a 9.282 run in the finals! In High School Semis it was Bob Lykins against Brian Hurst . Lykins dialed a 16.22 to the 16.81 of Hurst. As they left the tree a redlight would show for Lykins moving Hurst to the finals to face Aaron Sprauer, who had the Bye! In the Finals it was Aaron Sprauer against Brian Hurst. Sprauer dialed an 18.18 and Hurst a 16.82. Hurst got the advantage at the tree with a .554. At the quartermile finish line it was a win light for Sprauer with an 18.228 run.
