Kil-Kare Dragway May 27, 2006
Kil-Kare Dragway opened its doors for Saturday Drag Racing one hour earlier, due to the success of the buy back program. As a reminder, buy backs accumulate no points, and also that once you buy back you may not remove your buy back sticker until you are finished racing for that day. Please make sure that your buy back stickers are visible on the left side of you vehicle. Super Pro Quarters saw Danny Kendall up first for the buy run. The next pair up to the line was Rodney Easterling and David Irvin. Easterling would dial a 5.11 to Irvin’s 7.23. The reaction time race went to the fourth digit with both get .555 lights. Irvin broke out running a 7.21 on a 7.23 dial, giving Easterling the win light. Danny Rippetoe and Mike Little faced off for the final pairing of the round; Little’s dial was a 7.07 to Rippetoe’s 7.28. Reaction time favored Little with a .507 light, and the win after a 7.097 run. Semi Finals saw Mike Little and Danny Kendall facing off at the line. Little would dial in a 7.04 and Kendall a 6.06. As the tree dropped the lights were kinder to Kendall as he pulled a .515 reaction. Kendal took it down the track to get the win with a 6.100 on a 6.06 dial. Rodney Easterling got the bye to face off with Kendall in the Finals. Final round went down the track with Rodney Easterling and Danny Kendall piloting their machines for the win. Easterling would dial a 5.08 and Kendall a 6.06. Kendal had the better reaction with a .507 light, but broke out at the finish line giving the win to Rodney Easterling.
Pro quarters saw Jeff Stokes and Dave Cox pair up trying to make it into the next round. Stokes would dial a 10.79 and Cox a 10.00. Stokes had the reaction advantage with a .532 light; however he broke out giving the win to Dave Cox. Jason Wheatcraft and Shawn Stacy would pair up next. Wheatcraft dialed a 10.78 and Shawn Stacy an 11.02. Wheatcraft had the starting line advantage and translated it into a win light after a 10.811 run! David Berry and Mark Stroble were the last pair in the quarter finals. Stroble would dial his wheel stander in at a 9.80 and Berry an 11.48. Stroble left the line second, but with a better reaction time, and translated it into a win light with a 9.840 run. In the Semis Dave Cox received the Bye run, moving him into the finals. At the line this time, it would be Mark Stroble, and Jason Wheatcraft. Wheatcraft ran red, giving the win to Stacy. In the final round, we saw Mark Stroble and Dave Cox at the line. Cox would dial in a 10.00 and Stroble a 9.80. Reaction time advantage was to Dave Cox, but it wasn’t enough, as Mark Stroble passed him by with a 9.810 win.
Sportsman quarters saw the Dennis Young machine pair up with Joe Zimmer. Young would dial in a 12.40 and Zimmer a 13.86. Young was better off the tree with a .520 and that was enough to get him the win with a 12.470 run. Harold Young and Michael Collier were up in the next pair. Young dialed a 13.48 and Collier a 17.65. Collier got a big head start; however Young was good enough to make the pass for the win light with a 13.550 run. Terry Knight and Jason Shepherd pulled in for the next pairing, with Shepherd dialing a 12.00, and Knight a 17.22. As the pair left the starting line it was Shepherd with the advantage, with a .590 light. Jason pushed it all the way for the win with a 12.083 run. Final pair for the round was Bob Maxwell and Ricky Shepherd. Maxwell dialed a 12.44, to Shepherd’s 17.81. Maxwell made it off the line better with a .579 light and the win after a 12.452 run. In the Semi Finals it was Maxwell against Dennis Young. Maxwell dialing a 12.41 this time and Young a 12.40. Reaction battle went to Maxwell with a .504 light and the win also with a 12.477 run. Next up was Harold Young and Jason Shepherd. Young would dial a 13.54 to Shepherd’s 12.00. As they left the line Young went red moving Shepherd to the finals to face Maxwell. In the finals Bob Maxwell dialed a 12.41 and Jason Shepherd a 12.00. Maxwell would cut a PERFECT .5000 light, however broke out by .0072 secs. giving the win to the Jason Shepherd machine.
Pro Bike quarters saw Shannon Milnickle and Perry Sowers pair up. Milnickle would dial a 9.20 to Sowers’ 9.00. Sowers was better off of the line with a .517; however Milnickle made the pass down track for the win with a 9.268 run. Up next was Burt Exman and Brad Shellhaas. Exman dialed in an 8.44 and Shellhaas a 9.05. Exman got the better reaction time with a .517 reaction; he would also get the win light with an 8.525 run. Thomas Toler and Mike McGrath would pair up next. Toler would dial a 10.06 and McGrath a 10.02. As the pair left the line, Toler got the better reaction time with a .517. Toler got the win with a 10.101 run. As the Semi Finals were set into motion Shannon Milnickle staged for the bye run, however a centerline infraction disqualified him from proceeding, which placed Tom Toler and Burt Exman at the line for the final pair of the night. Exman dialed an 8.45 and Toler a 10.07. Exman would have the advantage off of the line with a .504 light, but it wasn’t good enough to get the win, as Toler ran a 10.108 for the win light.
Junior Dragsters saw their first week of buy backs, and participated heavily. In the quarter finals Brittany Adams and Lacy Emory were paired up first. Adams dialed an8.79 and Emory a 7.90. The two young ladies left the line, Adams had the advantage but Emory would make the pass for the win running a 7.994. Up next would be Walt Crum III dialing a 9.17 against Adam Berberich, dialing in a 7.90.Adam pulled the red light, and that moved Crum on to the next round. Matt Spradlin would have the Bye. In Semi Finals it was Matt Spradlin against Walt Crum III. Spradlin dialed a 9.45 and Crum a 9.11. Spradlin was better off of the line with a .525 light, and it would translate into a win with a 9.506 run. Lacy Emory had the Bye run to see Spradlin in the Finals. Junior Finals had Matt Spradlin dialing a 9.45, and Lacy Emory a 7.92. Emory showing her girl power, with a .555 light getting the advantage. Spradlin ran hard and broke out by .0049 giving Emory the win.
High School Bracket Quarter Finals saw Jason Parriman and Scott Brunett pair up, Parriman dialed a 16.98 and Brunett a 13.13. Parriman went red, moving Brunett to the next round. Up next was Zach Van Oss dialing a 19.24 and Brian Hurst dialing a 17.23. Van Oss pulled away with a red light, and that moved Hurst on to the next round. Up next was Kevin Butts and Aaron Sprauer. Butts dialed in an 18.46, to Sprauer’s 16.62. Sprauer had the advantage off of the line with a .662 light. Butts edged him out running an 18.476 for the win light.
In the Semis we saw Brian Hurst and Scott Brunett dialing in with a 17.25 for Hurst, and an 18.08 for Brunett. Hurst went red moving Brunett on to face Bye runner Kevin Butts in the finals. Final High School Round saw Butts pair up with Brunett. Butts dialed a 17.59 and Brunett an 18.14. Butts pulled off with a red light, making Scott Brunett the High School Winner.
