            Saturday’s racing action saw over 250 cars stage up for first round competition, with Buy Backs in action, over 300 cars ran down the strip for Super Saturday and the National Dragster Challenge. Each competitor would battle it out to earn the right to receive the coveted “Walley”.

            In first round of Super Pro there were 94 competitors making the call. In the Quarter Finals it was Paul Quillen Jr staging next Don Brun. Quillen would dial a 6.44 to Bruhn’s 5.76. A red light would end Quillen’s hopes for a winning night, moving Bruhn to the next round. Roger Taylor and Mikey Sturgill were the next to pull around the tower. Taylor would dial his machine to a 5.04 and Sturgill a 4.97. Taylor won the battle leaving the starting line with a .501 light, he was able to translate that advantage into a win with a  5.091 run. Tim Klopfenstein had the bye run into the next round!

            In the Semis Don Bruhn faced up with Tim Klopfenstein to try and face Roger Taylor in the next round. Bruhn dialed a 5.76 and Klopfenstein dialed a 5.74. Bruhn would leave early with a .494 light, moving Tim to the Next round! Roger Taylor got the bye into the next round.

            The finals went with Roger Taylor and Tim Klopfenstein. Roger would dial a 5.04 and Tim a 5.74. A breakout win light would come up for Roger Taylor with a 5.049. Tim went through too fast with a 5.724 run on his 5.74 dial.

            First round Pro bike saw twenty four bikes stage for the race. In the quarters, David Sawyer staged up for the Bye run. Up next would be Brad Shellhaas and Dave Beavers. Shellhaas dialed a 9.02 to Beaver’s 9.90. At the tree the battle was close with a .530 for Beavers on the reaction. At the quarter mile finish line the win would be for Dave Beavers with a 9.90 run. The last pair to roll in to the water box, was Nathan Thatcher, and Scott Sheppeard. Thatcher dialed a 9.48 to Sheppeard's 9.90. Scott got the advantage with a .5009 light that would translate into a win with 9.922.

            In the semi finals it would be David Sawyer facing off with Scott Sheppeard. Sawyer was disqualified due to a taillight infraction, moving Sheppeard to the finals, to face Beavers who got the Bye run.

            In the finals it would be Dave Beavers and Scott Sheppeard, Beavers would dial a 9.84 and so would Sheppeard for a heads up drag race. Sheppeard got the better light wit a .5058 light. At the quarter mile finish line it would be Sheppeard with a 9.944 run.

            In the pro quarters Pete Helms staged for the Bye run. Up next would be Lonnie Lindsey and Michael Roberts. Lindsey would dial a 10.60 and Roberts a 10.28. Off the line it would be Lindsey with a .511 reaction, but Roberts getting a breakout win as Lindsey went a 10.588 on a 10.60 dial. Mark Stroble and Johnny Vanover were the next pair to answer the call. As they pulled in it would be Stroble with a 9.80 dial and Vanover with a 12.39 dial. Red-light for Stroble moved Vanover to the next round. The last pair for the round was Randy Smith and Jerry Walter. As the pair staged up it would be Smith with a 10.53 dial to Walter’s 10.45. Walter would have the better reaction time with a .588 bulb, translating into a win light with a 10.507 run.

            Pro semis saw Jerry Walter and Johnny Vanover paired up with Walter dialing a 10.45 to Vanover's 12.38. As they got the green, it would be a .554 reaction time advantage for Vanover, but Walter had enough to hold on, and Vanover broke out. Pete Helms and Michael Roberts were the last pair of the round. Helms would dial a 10.48, to Roberts  10.28. Helms got the advantage with a .511 light, translating it to the win with a 10.500 run.

            Finals saw Helms and Walter pair up for the Walley. Helms would dial in a 10.48, and Walter a 10.46. Reaction time advantage went to Helms with a .514 light, and he backed it up with a 10.537 run for the win.

            Sportsman Quarters saw Ricky Sheppeard pair up with Dennis Young. Sheppeard would dial a 17.65 to Young’s 12.55. Sheppeard had the head start with a .544 reaction, however Young made the pass into the next round with a 12.601 run. Up next would be Doug Caplinger and Kevin Nichols. As the pair went to the line Caplinger dialed a 12.00 and Nichols a 16.28. Caplinger saw a green light with a .519 reaction time, but Nichols would pull around him for the win light with a 16.315 run. Jim Browder paired up with Mike McGriff. Browder would dial a 13.53 and McGriff a 12.67. Reaction times were close, and it was a battle to the finish line, with Mike McGriff as your winner with a 12.689 run. Last pair for that round saw Harold Young and Brain Collier pair up. Young dialed a 13.43 and Collier a 13.60. as the Pair left the starting line Young went red, moving Collier to the next round.

            In the Semifinals it was Brian Collier and Kevin Nichols paired up. Collier dialed a 13.60 to Nichols’ 16.28. Collier had the reaction time advantage with a .560, and the win with a 13.742 run. Mike McGriff paired up with Dennis Young and the dials were 12.65 and 12.53 respectfully. McGriff had the reaction advantage with a .546 light. The win light would belong to McGriff on a 12.672 run.

            In the finals it was Mike McGriff and Brian Collier paired up for the Walley. McGriff dialed a 12.65 and Collier a 13.52. Collier was away from the tree better with a .507 reaction, and that was enough to get the win light with a 13.614 run.

            High School class saw Aaron Sprauer pair up with Josh Toler. Sprauer dialed a 16.61 to Toler’s 18.78. Sprauer had the better reaction time but would break out giving Toler the win light. Brian Hurst paired with Jason Parriman. Hurst dialed in a 17.09 and Parriman a 16.74. This win light was due to a double break out with the Hurst machine moving to the next round with a 17.062 run. Last pair up was Scott Brunett and Steve Collier. Brunett dialed a 17.56 and Collier an 18.92. A red light for Brunet would move Collier to the next round.

            In the Semis Josh Toler received the Bye run, putting Collier and Hurst to the line to race into the finals. Hurst dialed a 17.09, and Collier an 18.09. The reaction time battle would go to Hurst with a .535 bulb and that translated to a win as Collier broke out.

            Finals saw Hurst and Toler pair up with Hurst dialing a 17.09 and Toler an 18.98. Toler would get away better from the tree with a .538 reaction, but could not get past Hurst who won with a 17.204 run.

            Jr. Dragster Action saw James Smith and Bryttney Sheppeard pair up, Smith dialed an 8.95, and Sheppeard a 9.04. Both went green, Smith had the advantage and was able to hold on to it for the win with a 9.046 run. Julie Duty and Shayla Babb were the next pair up. The dials were 8.08 for Duty and 13.14 for Babb in this Girl Power face off. Babb would break out, and that would give Duty the win with a 8.084 run. Matt Spradlin and Ceslie Shellhaas were the last pair of the round. Spradlin dialed a 9.56 and Shellhaas a 9.49. After the Shellhaas good luck shake from Dad it was on to the starting line to battle it out. Shellhaas was better of the tree with a .571 reaction and the win light with a  9.454 run.

            In the Semis James Smith got the Bye run, putting Ceslie Shellhaas and Julie Duty together to race into the finals. Shellhaas dialed a 9.46 and Duty an 8.08. Reaction times went to the 4th digit as Shellhaas had a .5851 and Duty a .5859. A close race at eh finish line saw Shellhaas breakout and Duty win with a 8.092 run.

 In the Finals Julie Duty and James Smith paired up. Duty would dial an 8.08 and Smith an 8.98. It would be Duty with the reaction time advantage with a .563 and that would translate into the win light with an 8.093 run.
