Jason Farquer gets his first Super Pro Win!!
Saturday’s heat was only outdone by the action on the track as over 200 cars staged for the first round of eliminations. In Super Pro Quarters, it was Tim Klopfensten and Doug Miller pairing up. Tim dialed a 5.78 to Doug’s 6.14. Doug would be better off of the starting line, but it would be Tim with the win light on a 5.798 run. Next up it was Andrew Barrett and JR Lockhart staging up. Barrett dialed a 5.77 to Lockhart’s 5.28. Barrett cut a .512 reaction time, along with a 5.779 run for the win. Evan Kirk and Jason Farquer staged next. Kirk the faster dialing in at a 4.84 to Farquer's 7.31. Farquer was King of the tree this time with a .507 light and ran dead on the dial with a 7.313 run. Darryl McConnaighey staged up next to Buy Back racer G383. As they approached the tree, McConnaighey dialed a 6.42 and G383 a 5.37. As the pair left the starting line it would be G383 with a reaction time of .517, and ran too fast making McConnaighey the Breakout winner! In the semis it was Tim Klopfensten and Andrew Barrett, Klopfensten dialed a 5.78 to Barrett’s 5.76. This race would go to Tim Klopfensten with a .530 reaction and a 5.809 run. Next pair to the line was Darryl McConnaighey and Jason Farquer. McConnaighey would dial a 6.43 to Farquer’s 7.29. Farquer would be faster off the tree with a .517 reaction and ran a 7.290 dead on his 7.29 dial. In Final Round action Tim Klopfensten faced Jason Farquer. Tim Klopfensten would dial a 5.79 and Jason Farquer a 7.28. When the lights turned green Farquer registered the better reaction with a .505 light with a 7.314 run for the breakout win. In pro Buy Back runners ruled as only two of the five racers were first round winners. Doug Caplinger staged up first next to 1X07, both of which were buy backs. Caplinger dialed an 11.52 to 1X07’s 13.33. As they reached the line Caplinger would have the better reaction time with a .526 along with an 11.572 run for the win. Shawn Stacy was up next with the Bye Run. After that it was Steve Collier and Kenny Rogers pairing up for the last run of the round. Collier dialed a 10.05 and Rogers an 11.21. Collier enjoyed the advantage from the start with a .525 light along with a 10.131 run for the win light. Up next were Shawn Stacy and Doug Caplinger. Caplinger dialed an 11.50 to Stacy’s 11.12. Stacy had the starting line advantage with a .507 light but it would be Caplinger moving on after running an 11.529 for the win. Steve Collier had the Bye run to the Finals. In the finals it was Doug Caplinger and Steve Collier at the line. Caplinger dialed in an 11.50 to Collier’s 10.00. Collier rolled the lights, and gave the win to Caplinger. In sportsman quarters it was John Cox and Michael Taylor Staging first. Cox dial a 13.69, and Taylor a 15.75. Taylor got a red light moving Cox to the next round. Up next were Ryan Barrett and Ricky Sheppeard. Barrett dialed a 13.89 to Shepherd’s 12.52. Barrett was better at the tree; however the double breakout win would go to Ricky Shepherd with a 12.505 run. Up next were Alan Flora and Lori Hess. Flora dialed in a 12.48 to the 18.43 of Hess. Flora had the better reaction, and package as he received the Breakout win with a 12.581 run. Doug Caplinger pulling double duty once again staged next to T36 for the final Pair Caplinger’s dial was a 12.11 to the 14.34 of T36. Caplinger would pull the red which would end his night in the Sportsman division and move T36 to the next round. In the Semi Finals it was Alan Flora Staging next to T36. 12.85 The dial for Flora and a 14.34 for T36. The tree is where this race was won with a better reaction time of a .543 for Flora and a 12.903 run for the win. Up next was John Cox to face Ricky Shepherd. Cox dialed a 13.69 and a 12.49 for Shepherd. The tree times were more kind to Shepherd with a .528 coupled with a 12.593 run to get the win light at the big end! He would face Flora in the finals. Final Round Sportsman action brought Ricky Shepherd to the line with a 12.50 dial against Alan Flora with…. You guessed it a 12.50 dial! It would be a heads up race for the final! Flora would record the better reaction time with a .548 but would break out more. At the end of the strip it would be Ricky Shepherd with the double breakout win with his 12.481 run. In the Pro Bike Sam Cotter paired against B13. Cotterman would dial an 11.59 to B13’s 9.69. B13 went too early and received the red light, and that moved Cotterman on to the next round. Up next were Dave Beavers and Burt Exman. Beav would dial in at a 9.98 to Exman’s 8.55. Close racing off of the start line saw a .0088 second difference in reaction times. Beavers would get the win light at the finish line with a 10.006 run. Brian Poe had the Bye run into the Finals. In the semi finals Brian Poe would pair against Sam Cotterman to try to make it to Beavers in the finals. Poe cut a .517 in route to the win light with a 10.042 run to back it up. Beavers watched then ran the Bye! In the Finals it would be Brian Poe against Dave Beavers. Poe would dial in a 10.00 and Beavers a 9.98. At the tree, a .524 reaction would go to Beavers, who would receive the win with a 10.006 run. Junior Dragster quarters went down the track at with Mikah Miller facing Brian Cripps in the first pair. Miller would dial a 13.04 to Cripps’ 11.65. Cripps would get a .543 reaction time which would give him an advantage. As the win light came on it was for Cripps with an 11.911 run. Paige Vance dialed a 13.20 as Taylor Manning would pair up for the run. Manning had a dial of 10.43. The tree came down and Manning had the better reaction time with a .658. . As the pair raced to the finish line it would be Taylor Manning with the win on a 10.520 run. The last pair for the round were Megan Hughes and Bryttany Sheppeard. Sheppeard would receive the win light running 8.997 on an 8.94 dial. In the semis it was Taylor Manning on the Bye run to the finals. After that Bryttney Sheppeard would face Brian Cripps. Sheppeard dialed an 8.97, to Cripps’ 11.66. Sheppeard was better at the tree with a .504. A feat the would get her the top tree award. She also received the win light beating Cripps with an 8.995 run. Finals we all GIRL POWER as our photographer would say! Bryttney Sheppeard against Taylor Manning. Sheppeard dialed an 8.97 to Manning’s 10.48. Sheppeard saw the red light and that gave the win to Taylor Manning. In High School Aaron Sprauer paired against Jason Parriman. Sprauer would get the red light and that would move Parriman on. Kyle Brown paired against Bob Lykins dialed a 17.30 to Lykins’ 16.92. Brown had the better reaction time but Lykins would make the pass on track for the win, with a 17.042 run. Brian Hurst and Josh Toler paired for the last of High School Quarters. Hurst dialed a 17.38 to Toler’s 16.28. Hurst saw the better reaction time but Toler had the better package, winning on a 16.352 run. Bob Lykins paired against Jason Parriman in the semis. Lykins dialed a 16.89 and Parriman dialed a 14.34. Off the tree Parriman won the starting line battle with a .619 light. Lykins was able to outrun him and got the win light with a 16.844 run. Josh Toler had the Bye run into the finals. In the finals Lykins dialed a 16.81 and Toler a 16.18. Toler had the starting line covered with a .765 light, however Lykins made the pass on the track with a 16.899 run for the win!
