Kil-Kare raceway saw over 240 cars stage for the first round of competition. In Super Pro quarterfinals it was Matt Barrett to face Bill Caudill in the first pair. Barrett would dial a 5.86 to the 6.76 of Caudill. Barrett would get a red light and move caudill on to the next round. Leon Bryan had the bye run into the Semis. Last pair for the quarters saw Rick Wilkin and Tim Klopfenstein pair up. Rick would dial a 5.57 to Tim’s 5.75. A .522 reaction time for Tim would give him the advantage along with a 5.757 run for the win. In the Semi’s it would be Leon Bryan and Bill Caudill pairing up. Bryan dialed a 6.75 to the 5.81 of Caudill. Bryan would have the advantage with a .521 and Caudill would breakout moving Leon to the finals. Klopfenstein had the bye into the finals. Final round saw Leon Bryan and Tim Klopfenstein pair up. Leon dialed a 5.77 to Tim’s 5.81. Leon cut a .512 at the start and Tim would breakout giving Leon the Win in Super Pro. Doug Honsted Paired up paired against Bob Templin for the first pair for Pro quarterfinals. Honsted dialed a 10.66 to the 11.68 of Templin. Templin got away from the tree with a .528 light along with an 11.713 run for the win. Ron Simko had the Bye run to the Semis. Tom Scarpelli and Mike Little staged for the next pair. Little pulled a red light moving Scarpelli on to the next round. The last pair for the round was Jeff Stokes and Rob Crider. Stokes dialed in at a 10.85 to the 10.50 of Crider. Stokes had the advantage with a .513 light but Crider would make the pass with a 10.516 run for the win. In the Semis it was Rob Crider and Ron Simko up first. Crider would dial his car in at a 10.50 to the 10.07 of Simko. Crider cut a .525 reaction time along with a 10.540 run for win light as Simko broke out. Tom Scarpelli and Bob Templin would stage to see who would face Crider in the finals. Scarpelli dialed a 9.99 and Templin an 11.69. The reaction time battle was won by Scarpelli with a .533 light along with a 10.021 run for the win. In Pro finals it was Scarpelli dialing in at a 9.99 to the 10.52 of Crider. Crider once again had the better light with a .536 and ran a 10.499 for the double breakout win in the finals. Sportsman quarters brough Joe Hoskins and Terry Knight to the line. Hoskins would dial an 18.55 to Knight’s 17.40. Hoskins was away at the tree with a .560 light, and ran it in 18.539 for the win. Nick Davis and Joe Cloran Jr. were up next. Davis put on a dial of 12.64, Cloran a 15.28. Davis pulled away early to get a red light moving Cloran to the next round. Doug Caplinger had the Bye run into the semis. Doug Caplinger was up first with Joe Cloran in the Semis. Caplinger dialed a 12.02 and Cloran a 15.35. Caplinger got the better reaction time with a .542 light, running a 12.034 would give him the ride to the finals. Joe Hoskins had the Bye to face Caplinger in the finals. Final round action saw Caplinger dialing a 12.03 to Hoskins’ 18.50. Hoskins would foul out by leaving early and Caplinger would win in Sportsman. Pro Bike action saw the quartes begin with Longsleeves Dave Rose pairing aginst Sam Cotterman. Rose would dial his Harley in at 14.81 Cotterman dialed an 11.56. As they went to the tree Rose cut a .671 light and ran 14.897 to get the win light. Larry Hunter and Burt Exman were up for the next pair. Hunter dialed a 10.20 to Exman’s 8.49. Hunter was better off the tree with a .541 light but broke out putting Exman into the Semis. Russ Withem paied against Nathan Thatcher. Thatcher dialed a 9.47 and Withem a 10.22. Thatcher got a .534 reaction, but Withem would make the pass with a 12.279 run for the win. Last pair for the round was David Sawyer and Dave Beavers. Sawyer dialed an 8.77 to Beav’s 9.89. Sawyer cut a .522 light and made the pass with an 8.799 for the win. In the Semis it would be Russ Withem and Burt Exman up first. Withem dialed a 10.23 to Exman’s 8.50. Exman had the better reaction time with a .563 along with an 8.517 run for the win light. David Sawyer and Longsleeves Rose were up to see who would run against the defending track champion in the finals. Sawyer dialed an 8.77 to Longsleeve’s 14.86. Sawyer cut the better light with a .531 and Longsleeves broke out moving Sawyer to face Exman in the finals. Pro Bike Finals saw David Sawyer dial an 8.80against Burt Exman’s 8.50. Exman cut a .514 light and ran an 8.571 for the win. Junior Dragster quarters had James Smith face Lacy Emory. Smith dialed a 9.03 to Emory’s 7.90. Smith cut the better light, a .563 along with a 9.05 run for the win. Matt Spradlin and Megan Hughes paired up next. Spradlin dialed in a 9.38 to Hughes’ 10.63. Spradlin won the reaction time battle with a .606 along with a 9.425 run for the win. Ryan Jenks got the bye in to the semis. In the semis it was Matt Spradlin against Ryan Jenks. Spradlin dialed a 9.33 to Jenks’ 8.33. Jenks was better at the light with a .574, along with an 8.369 run for the win. James Smith had the Bye into the finals. In the finals it would be Jenks and Smith. Smith dialed a 9.02 and Jenks an 8.34. Smith was better off the lights with a .558 and ran 9.023 for the win on his BIRTHDAY! High School Fianls saw Bob Lykins pair against Brian Hurst. Lykins dialed a 16.49 to Hurst’s 17.18. Lykins had the better light .614 light, Lykins ran 16.657 for the win.
