The Buckeye Nationals saw the return of the pro top outlaws to the Dragstrip as well as the Supercharged Warriors. Curfew was the winner in most brackets as only Pro Bike and High School brackets. In Pro Bike the quarterfinals began as Sam Cotterman and Perr Sowers Paired up to run down the track. Cottreman dialed a 9.14 to the 11.56 of Sowers. Cotterman saw a better reaction time with a .519. The pair went down the track to see a win light for Sam Cotterman with a 9.218 run. The next pair up was Brian Poe and Jim Arledge. Arlede saw problems at the starting line which gave Poe the pass to the next round. The next pair of riders were Dave Beavers and Ron Saint. Beavers dialed a 9.90 to the 9.72 of Saint. The reaction time battle saw saint ahead by .0060 secs. When the riders made it to the finish line, the win light was for Ron Saint with a 9.762 run. The last pair for the finals was “Longsleeves” Dave Rose against Mike McGrath. Rose would dial his harley in at a 14.96 to the 9.99 of McGrath. Rose left early for a red light and that put McGRath into the Semis. In the Semis this time it was Sam Cotterman against Mike McGrath. McGrath left early for the red light, moving Cotterman to the next round. Up next was Ron Saint and Brian Poe. Saint also pulled away early for the red light to come on. And it would be Cotterman and Poe in the finals. As the pair approached the line Cotterman dialed an 11.57 to Poe’s 9.97. As they left the tree it would be Cotterman with the better reaction time, but he broke out and gave the win to Poe. In the High School quarter finals it was Josh Toler against Aaron Sprauer. Toler dialed a 16.41 to the 18.01 of Sprauer. Toler cut a red light, which moved Sprauer to the next round. Up next was Brian Hurst against Jason Parriman. Hurst would pull away from the line with a red light, moving Parriman to the semis. Bob Lykins had the Bye run. In the semis it was Arron Sprauer to face Bob Lykins. Sprauer dialed an 18.10 to the 16.42 of Lykins. Sprauer pulled away with the better reaction time a .613. Lykins was able to make up the difference and got the win with a 16.472 run. Jason Parriman had the bye into the finals. In the Finals it was Parriman against Lykins. Parriman dialed a 14.45 to the 16.41 of Lykins. Parriman was away with the better light, a .633, but a double breakout win would see Lykins the winner with a 16.400 run. All other Brackets would fall to curfew, Kil-Kare would like to thank all of the fans, racers, and officials for a great Buckeye Nationals. All remaining races will be finished on Saturday August 19th, prior to the King of the Track event.
