Xenia, Oh. April 28, 2006 – Saturday was a day of questionable circumstances, as rain threatened the xenia facility, as 217 competitors showed for the first Super Saturday of the drag racing season.       

            In Super Pro Quarter Finals, Rob Gay of Springboro dialed a 5.00 as he paired up with Ken Sullivan of West Carrolton, who dialed a 4.99. Starting line advantage went to Sullivan with a .521 and gay a .524. Eighth mile finish line saw Ken Sullivan with the win light. Up next was defending Track Champion Jason Ford to face off with Rocky Harrison. Ford would dial a 5.08 and Harrison a 6.12. Starting Line advantage would go to Ford with a .505 bulb. At the Finish Line we would see a win light for Jason Ford of Beavercreek with a 5.098 run on a 5.08 dial. Sammy Baugh would stage next with Rusty Burlile in the opposing lane. Baugh’s red light would give Burlile the advance to the nest round.

            In Semi Finals Ford would pair up with Sullivan for the chance to go to the finals. Fords dial was a 5.09 and Sullivan a 4.99. Ford pulled a red light moving Sullivan up to the finals. Rusty Burlile had the bye.

            In the finals Burlile would face Sullivan in the finals. At the dial, Sullivan was a 6.05, and Burlile was a 4.98. Off the tree Sullivan was a .511 to Burlile’s .516. At the finish line it was Ken Sullivan with a 4.993 on a 4.99 dial.

 

            Pro quarters saw Doug Honsted face off with Kenny Long. Honsted would dial in a 10.53 to Long’s 10.99. The starting line advantage went to Long with a .593 light, however Honsted made up the difference with a 10.550 run on a 10.53 run for the win light. Up next was Randy Smith against Dave Baker. Smith dialed a 10.50 to Baker’s 10.10. the green light was kinder to Smith with a .518 reaction time. At the finish line, Smith would be your winner on a 10.540 run. Meshell Harrison pulled in to the box next to face Bob Templin last weeks winner for he next run. Harrison would dial a 11.54 to Templin’s 10.18. Off the tree reaction was better for Templin cutting a .509 reaction. At the finish line it was Bob Templin, with a 10.262 run. Last pair for the round saw Mike Gill and Don Anderson Jr pair up. Gill dialing in a 10.09, and Anderson a 10.91. Reaction time was better for Anderson with a .550, but not good enough to take the win. Gill ran it out with a 10.113 run to advance to the next round.

In the Semi finals, Randy Smith faced off with Doug Honsted for the first pair. Smith dialed a 10.50, and Honsted a 10.54. Off the tree reaction time was better for Smith and the win light would be his also. 10.506 run on a 10.50 dial to see Smith off to the final round. Up next was Mike Gill and Bob Templin. Gill would dial a 10.11 to Templin’s 10.18. At the tree, better reaction time went to Templin with a .531 and the win light also with a 10.181 run on a 10.18 dail, Templin would see finals two weeks in a row!

            In the final round it was Randy Smith and Bob Templin pairing up for the run. Smith would dial a 10.48 to Templin’s 10.17. As the tree came down, red light came on for Smith making Templin a back to back winner in Pro!

           

            Sportsman quarter finals saw some exciting action. Up first was Brian Emory to race against  Sam Bunch. Emory’s dial was a 16.25 and Bunch a 15.62. Emory had the starting line advantage with a .506 light. Win light at the quarter mile was Emory’s with a 16.223 run. Next up was Wayne Richardson and Joe Zimmer. Richardson dialing in a 17.44, and Zimmer a 13.87. On the finish line we saw the win light for Zimmer with a 13.934 on a 13.87 dial. Up next was Carl Thomas and Ronnie King. Thomas would dial a 14.14, and King a 12.66. As the pair made there way from the starting line, Thomas was better with a .609 reaction. Quarter Mile finish line saw Carl Thomas the winner with a 14.224 run. The last pairing was between Paul Gibbs, and Walt Shade Jr. Shade would dial a 12.88, and Gibbs 15.26. As the two left the starting line the advantage would be for Shade cutting a .572 reaction, at the win light, Walt Shade  would be the winner with a 13.149 run!

            In the Semi Finals, Brian Emory would see Carl Thomas Emory would dial in with a 16.23, and Thomas with a 14.13. When the pair left the line, Thomas had the advantage with a .548 light. The advantage was translated into a win light at the quarter mile with a 14.231 run. On the next pair up it would be Walt Shade Jr. and Joe Zimmer. On the dials, Shade was a 12.82, and Zimmer was a 13.90. Off the tree Shade was better with a .575. At the finish line, we saw the win goto Walt Shade Jr, with a 13.489 run.

            In the Finals it would be Walt Shade Jr, and Carl Thomas face off for the money. At the line Shade would dial a 12.81, and Thomas a 14.11. At the tree, Shade was better with a .555 reaction, securing his win with a 13.071 run.

           

           Pro bike saw 18 competitors stage for first round, and at the quarters we saw Mike McGrath and Kaw Boy Bob Nugent pair up for the first runs of the round. Nugent dialing a 9.58, to McGrath’s 10.16, as the tree feel, McGrath had the advantage with a .517 light, however the breakout win would go to Kaw Boy Bob Nugent with a 9.586 run. Up next Tim Cooper would face Thomas Toler, Cooper dialed a 9.80 to Toler’s 10.07. Cooper was better off the tree with a .519 light and that would be enough with a 9.827 run to get the win! Dave Beavers would bye run is way to the Semi Final Round!

            In The Semi Finals it Was Nugent and Beavers to pair up, Nugent dialing a 9.56 to Beavers’ 9.90. The Beav was better off the line with a .513 reaction time, but Nugent held him off for the win light with a 9.653 run. This time Cooper would Bye run to the next round!

            Final Round action went down track at about 9:00, with Kaw Boy Bob Nugent looking for his third consecutive win in Pro Bike Competition! Nugent dialed in a 9.54 to Cooper’s 9.80! As the tree came down it was Nugent with the better reaction time a .525. As the pair approached the quarter mile finish line, win light came on for Kaw Boy Bob Nugent! Run Time… 9.627 for the Threepeat!

           

       High School action  saw 4 racers go at it, as the field set to the line, it was Brian Hurst and Josh Toler pairing up for Semi Finals. Hurst would dial in a 17.10 and Toler a 18.93. Hurst had starting line advantage with a a.579 run but Toler was able to pull through to the win light with a 19.190 run! Up next was Jason Parriman facing Aaron Sprauer! At the dial in box, Parriman dialed in a 16.59 and Sprauer a 16.26. The tree was kinder to Parriman with a .619 reaction time! Parriman was able to hold off Sprauer for the win with a 16.743 run!

            In the final round, Jason Parriman and Josh Toler paired up to see who would be the winner, Toler was better at the tree with a .576 light, but was unable to secure the win, as Parriman ran a 16.718 for the win!
