Louderbach Claims "The Craig" at Kil-Kare
With a seven car inversion and with Louderbach being seventh
fast qualifier this put him on the pole along with Mike South
Jr. for the start of the $1,000 to win event. Louderbach took
control after starter Mike Stapleton dropped the green flag
with Danny Suffron right on his rear bumper with South right
there in third. Fifth place starter Jeremy Everding who was
driving Jay Laykins Jr.'s car then moved right up with Suffron
as they diced for second while Louderbach started to pull away
from the field.
The first caution came out on lap nine when Shane Williams and
Tom Williams who be battling for fifth and sixth locked
bumpers. When the green reappeared Louderbach again put some
distance on the field as again Everding was trying every way
possible to get around Suffron. The second caution came out
when Travis Digges had fire erupt under his hood from an oil
leak.
Again Louderbach and his D&R sponsored machine stretched
his lead after the restart leaving the field to battle for
positions and that is just what both Williams' and Justin
Miller did as they fought for the fifth through seventh slots.
As the laps were wearing down debris on the track brought out
the final caution with three laps to go. Louderbach pulled off
the win, his second feature of the year with Everding finally
getting around Suffron to claim runner-up money with Suffron
third. Tom Williams was fourth and Mike South Jr. was fifth.
In time trials Justin Miller erased Billy Ritchie's track
record of 14.996 with a time of 14.922. Rusty Clark and Ed
Lorentes claimed the heat wins.

Who can stop Tim Allensworth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series late models seems to be the question the fans are
beginning to ask as he claimed his fourth win of the season.
Veteran Sam Heckman and second year late model driver Jamie
Sites brought the eighteen car field to the green and then it
was a side by side battle between them for the lead as they
jockeyed back and forth. Heckman showed as the leader but it
was nip and tuck with the cars behind them running side by
side lap after lap. The caution came out on lap ten when third
place running John Vallo had contact from a lapped car sending
Vallo into a spin.
Heckman continued to show as the leader but Vallo surged ahead
with Heckman, Allensworth, Gary Estes and now Donnie Renner
joining the group running for the front spots. Fast timer
Allensworth who was fast timer and started seventh passed
Vallo on the backstretch for the lead which he never
relinquished until the checker. Three time winner Estes placed
second with Vallo third followed by Renner and Heckman.
Virgil Powell had a few tense moments on lap twenty-one when
the power steering line ruptured on his car spraying the hot
manifold with fluid which quickly erupted into flames. Powell
was uninjured with only minor damage to his engine.
With Allensworth having fast time of 13.886, Justin Alsip and
Eddie Simpson claimed the heats.
Timmerman held the lead but previous weeks winner Shawn
Stansell was right there in second spot. As the laps wore down
Shawn Stroble had displaced Dill to take over the third spot
followed by Terry Humphrey. As Timmerman claimed the checker
first Stroble made a last minute challenge on Stansell but
Stansell held on to finish second with Stroble third. Humphrey
and Dill rounded out the top five.
Derek Weatherhead posted fast time of 13.922 but had his car
sidelined after an altercation in his heat and as a jester of
sportsmanship Shawn Stroble loaned his backup car to him
for the feature so he could have a chance to stay in the
points chase for the championship. Stansell and Gary Estes won
the heats.
Mention food, especially a large deluxe pizza for winning the
Oakley Blacktop compact feature as that is what Tim Haerr's
sponsor, The Pizza Company in Enon gives Haerr and his team
when they win. If he looses he gets a small cheese pizza.
Since Tim likes to eat he drives extra hard and that he did as
he racked up his fifth win of the year in his Mahaffey Auto
Salvage sponsored car and of course The Pizza Co. too.
Bo Hoelscher was trying to capture his second win of the year
as he led the first ten laps as Haerr had came up from
seventh, first passing Chris Boggs and then Hoelscher
for the win. Boggs was second followed by Hoelscher, Jess
Drook, and Mike Robertson. Haerr also had fast time of
15.106. NASCAR
