Today was a great day for a drag race. The weather was nice and we were able to have a good turnout on our first day race. In the quarter final round Kevin Brassington from W. Carrollton, Ohio raced against Terry Terrel from New Carlisle, Ohio. Kevin was able to cut a .6210 light to Terrel’s .5511 light. Kevin was able to take the double breakout win. In the next match up Glen Yancy from Waynesville, Ohio beat a falling off pace Jeremy Kessler from Sabina, Ohio. In the next match up Ceslie Shellhaas from Springfield, Ohio cut a .5018 light to Doug Quillen’s .5661 light. Ceslie was sable to use her starting line advantage to take the win into the next round. In the last match up of the round Tony McFall from Tipp City, Ohio had the starting line advantage over Sammy Baugh from Springfield, Ohio. With the starting line advantage Tony advanced into the next round.
In the semi finals Kevin Brassington raced against Tony McFall. Kevin cut a .5101 to Tony’s .5189 light. Kevin’s starting line advantage was enough to take the win. In the last match up in this round Ceslie Shellhaas defeated a red lighting Glenn Yancy, which advanced her to her first final in her brother’s super pro car.
In the final round Ceslie lost the race on the starting line but Kevin broke out giving Ceslie her first win in Super Pro.
In the quarterfinals of the Pro class Brian McLaghilin from Eaton, Ohio competed against Tonia Tyree from Tipp City, Ohio. Brian had the starting line advantage and was able to run dead on his dial and take the win. In the next match up between Tom Peters from Fairborn, Ohio defeated a falling off pace Kenny Long from Springfield, Ohio. In the next match up David Baker from Xenia, Ohio had the bye run into the next round.
In the semi finals Tom Peters competed against Dave Baker. Tom had the starting line advantage over Dave and was able to hold on for the win. The final run of the round was a solo pass as Brian McLaghlin advanced to the final round by receiving the bye run.
The final round was between Brian McLaghlin and Tom Peters. When the tree came down Brian pulled the red light and Tom was given the win.
The quarterfinals of sportsman found some tough competitors trying to take home the win and also trying to use the opportunity to become a quick rev qualifier for next weeks race. Nick Davis from Moraine, Ohio competed against John Cox from Tipp City, Ohio. Nick cut a .5490 light compared to John’s .6059 light. Nick’s starting line advantage was enough to hold on for the win. Joe Zimmer from Dayton, Ohio competed against Ronnie King from Urbana, Ohio in the next race of the round. Zimmer cut a .5400 light to Ronnie’s .7010 light. Zimmer was able to take the win with his starting line advantage. The final race of the round was a bye run given to Matt Spradlin from Springfield, Ohio.
In the Semi finals Nick Davis was able to defeat Matt Spradlin on a double breakout win. Joe Zimmer advanced to the final round by receiving the bye run.
The final round of sportsman was between Nick Davis and Joe Zimmer. Joe cut a .5239 light compared to Nick’s .5440 light. The starting line advantage was all that was needed to take the win.
In the quarterfinals of Motorcycle Rick Haupt from Farmersville, Ohio faced off against Barry Coffman from Dayton, Ohio. Barry had the starting line advantage but fell off the pace and Rick was able to drive around him for the win. In the next match up Nathan Thatcher from Dayton, Ohio raced against Steve Withem from Fairborn, Ohio. Nathan cut a .5611 light to Steve’s .5341 light. Steve’s starting line advantage was all that was needed to take the win. In the last match up of the round Dave Beavers from Urbana, Ohio competed against David Sawyer from Springfield, Ohio. Dave was able to get the starting line advantage and took the win over David Sawyer.
The semi final round was between Dave Beavers and Steve Withem competed for the chance to race in the final round. Dave had a .5228 light to Nathan’s 1.4250 light. Dave was able to take the win with the starting line advantage. Rick Haupt was able to use his bye run to advance to the final.
The final round was between Dave Baker and Rick Haupt. Beaver would make the win! In the final round of the high school eliminator Aaron Sprauer from Kettering, Ohio had the starting line advantage over Robert Fairchild from New Carlisle, Ohio. The starting line advantage was all Aaron needed to take the win. The semi finalists were Austin Stidham from Urbana, Ohio and Andrew England from West Chester Ohio.
In the junior dragster final Danielle Kendall from Urbana, Ohio pulled the red light and gave the win to Ben Browder from Fairborn, Ohio.
