Saturday Drag racing action was at its finest this last weekend, as the field set to the ladders it would be Shirley Cottle facing off with Fill in driver Todd Filson. Filson filled the seat for Mikey Sturgill who was off away at Prom! Back to the race, Cottle dialed in at a 6.58 to the 4.95 of Filson. At the tree Cottle would have the better light with a .514, however Filson would get the win with a 4.9753 run. Bill Burlie would receiv the Bye into the Super Pro Semi Finals. Last pair for the round in Super Pro was Kyle Tagg and Tim Louderback, a reminder of last weeks final round. Tagg would dial in a 5.58 to the 6.63 of Louderback. As the pair left the tree, the difference was .002 secs, a hard run and a awin light for Tagg with a 6.6411 run. Bill Burlie faced Todd Filson in the Semis, with a 5.80 dial to the 4.95 of Filson. Filson got the better light with a .508, running the 1/8th in a 4.9591 run for the win light. Kyle Tagg got the Bye into the Finals. In the finals it would be Kyle Tagg vs. Todd Filson. Tagg dialed a 6.63 to the 4.94 of Filson. As the tree came down, the better of the two reaction time would belong to Filson with a .514. Filson ran out the clocks with a 4.9620 run for the win in Super Pro.
In the Pro Quarters it would be Matt Peters against David Berry. Peters would dial a 10.00 to the 11.45 of Berry. At the tree it would be Berry with a .519 light for the advantage, along with an 11.4482 run for the win light. Up next would be Michael Roberts against Donnie Manning. Roberts pulled away red moving Manning on to the next round. In the final pair of quarterfinals it would be Pete Helms against Jerry Walter. Helms dialed a 10.52 to the 10.39 of Walter. At the tree it would be Helms with the better light, a .543. At the finish line the win light would go to Pete Helms with a 10.5489 run. In the Semis, we would see Pete Helms and David Berry. Helms dialed a 10.52 to the 11.43 of Berry. As they left the starting line, Helms went early for the red light moving Berry to the finals! Donnie Manning had the Bye run into the finals to face Berry! In the Finals David Berry dialed in an 11.43 to the 10.22 of Donnie Manning. At the tree Berry had the better light, a .521 along with his 11.4889 run for the win light. Sportsman division quarterfinals saw Tracy Smart vs. Brian Collier. Smart got a red light and that moved Collier to the next round! Up next were Bryan Perrin and Joe Butts. Perrin dialed a 16.93 to the 12.93 of Butts. Perrin would get the better light a .517 moving along to a win light with a 16.996 run. Last pair of the group was Joe Cloran and Doug Capling. Cloran dialed a 17.07 to the 12.01 of Caplinger. At the tree Caplinger got a .526 light for the advantage along with a 12.021 run for the win light. In the semis we would see Bryan Perrin vs. Brian Collier. Perrin dialed a 16.93 to the 17.09 of Collier. As they left Collier recorded the better light with a .549. As the pair went down the track the win light would come up for Collier with a 17.1111 run for the win light. Doug Caplinger had the bye run into the finals to race Collier. In the Finals it would be Caplinger Vs.
Collier. Collier to dial in a 17.09 to the 12.00 of Caplinger. At the
tree it would be Caplinger with a .577 light for the advantage.
Caplinger ran strong, getting the win with a 12.0131 run! In the Semis it would be Brad Doyle against Rick Haupt. Doyle dialed a 9.55 to the 8.35 of Haupt. As they left the tree, it would be Haupt with the beter light, along with an 8.3999 run for the win. Homer England got the Bye run into the finals to face Haupt. In the Finals Haupt dialed in an 8.38 to the 9.62 of England. England got the better light but it would be Rick Haupt to get the win with an 8.3861 run.
