            It was a hot day and the humidity was raging but at Kil-Kare we had drivers from all over competing for a chance to be the Super Saturday Champions.  Not only was an extra bonus payout on the line but also the chance for drivers to gain ground in the Indy points chase.  Dan Bettinger and his company sponsored super Saturday and also the Motorcycle drivers were competing for an extra bonus payout with the option of an even bigger bonus if a Harley was able to take home the victory, sponsored by  Rod Smith  of Buckminn "s Harley Davidson of xenia ohio. 

 

            In bracket one we had a good turnout of cars.  Many drivers were hoping to use the doubles points to make a jump in the points chase.  In the quarterfinals we saw Andy Montgomery from S. Charleston, Ohio defeat Dean Mcilvain from New Carlisle, Ohio.  The next match-up was against Brent Angles from Hillsboro, Ohio and George Buchhalter from Fairborn, Ohio.  It was a close race but in the end Angles had the advantage and the win.  The next match-up was BJ Sexton from Fairborn, Ohio who defeated Mike Brown from Fairborn, Ohio.  In the final race of the round Boomer Ellison from Beavercreek, Ohio received the bye run into the semi finals.

 

            In the semi finals Andy Montgomery faced off against BJ Sexton, the race was close but in the end Andy advanced to the final round.  In the other semi final match up Boomer Ellison defeated Brent Angle’s. 

            In the final Boomer cut a .5188 light to Andy’s .5730 light.  Both Andy and Boomer ran dead on their dial-in but Boomer was able to take the win. 

 

            In pro, we had about 100 cars before buy backs in the second round. In the quarterfinals Bryan Fox from Springfield, Ohio cut a .516 to Shawn Stacy from Beavercreek, Ohio .563.  With the starting line advantage Bryan was able to take the win.  In the next match up Gwayne Honeycutt from Urbana, Ohio cut a .541 light to Carl Thomas from Kettering, Ohio red light, giving Gwayne the automatic win.  Patrick Partee from Xenia, Ohio defeated Mike Roberts from Huber Heights, Ohio.  The final match-up of the round found birthday boy Paul Allen from Kettering, Ohio defeating a breaking out Matt Antrobius from Bellbrook, Ohio. 

            In the semi finals Gwayne Honeycutt defeated Patrick Partee in a close match up.  In the final match up of the round we watched Bryan Fox defeat a breaking out Paul Allen. 

            In the final Bryan Fox cut a .616 light to Gwayne’s .570 light.  It was a close race but in the end Bryan Fox’s dragster was too much and he took the win. 

 

            In the quarterfinals of Sportsman we had some close races and some contenders facing off.  The first match-up was between last week’s runner up James Browder III from New Albany, Ohio against Mad Mike Collier from Dayton, Ohio.  James cut a .560 light to Mike’s .503 light.  James was dialed in at a 13.97 and he ran a 14.02 to Mike’s 17.40 dial-in and his 17.62 run.  James was able to take the win at the finish line and advance to the semi finals.  The next match-up was Vince Moore from Xenia, Ohio defeating Charles Picklesimer from New Carlisle, Ohio.  In the last race of the round Bryan Emory from Beavercreek, Ohio made his bye run and advanced to the semi final. 

 

            In the Semi finals James Browder III came up against Bryan Emory.  Emory pulled the red light giving James the advance into the final.  In the other semi final match up Vince Moore had the bye run to advance to the final. 

 

            The final round James Browder III was competing in his second final round in two weeks.  James cut a .541 light to Moore’s .573 light.  Vince broke out and James was able to take the win. 

 

            In Motorcycle we had a strong field of competitors competing for the chance to take home $600.  In the quarterfinals Homer England from West Chester, Ohio faced off against Dave Beavers from Urbana, Ohio.  It was a close race with both drivers running on their dial, however Homer had the starting line advantage and was able to take the win.   In the next match up Roger Wilhelm jr. defeated Larry Hunter from Xenia, Ohio.  The next match up was between Wayne Stewart from Springfield, Ohio defeated Brad Shellhaas from Springfield, Ohio.  In the final race of the round Glenn Lakins from Trenton, Ohio took the bye run and advanced to the semi finals. 

 

            In the semi final round Homer Homeboy England competed against Wayne Stewart.  Homer had the starting line advantage by a few and was able to run dead on to Wayne’s breakout.  In the last match up Glenn Lakins defeated Roger at the starting line to advance to the final round.

 

            The final round was between Glenn Lakins and Homer England.  When both drivers left the starting line they had almost identical reaction times.  However in the end Homer’s bike had some problems and Glenn Lakins took the win. 

 

            In the eight and nine year old class, we watched AJ Eley, from Wapokenta, OH defeat Caleb Ellison, from Beavercreek, OH.  The semi finalists were Wyatt Kessler and Mikah Miller. 

 

            In the ten through twelve-year-old class, Michelle Morris, from Xenia, OH, was able to defeat Shayla Babb from Xenia, OH.  The Semi finalists were Miranda Roberts and Edmond Ellison.

 

            In the thirteen and up class we saw Tyler Vance from New Carlisle, Ohio competing against Lacy Emory from Beavercreek, Ohio.   In this race Tyler had the starting line advantage with a .577 light to Lacy’s .627 light.  Tyler was able to take the win. The Semi finalist was Taylor Manning. 

       

            In the high school class we had three competitors this week.  In the first round Jake Rowe from Urbana, Ohio got the bye run into the final.  In the other match up Andrew England from West Chester, Ohio hoped to join his father and compete in a final round.  His opponent was Jake Browder from Fairborn, Ohio.  Jake pulled the red light and Andrew advanced to the final round. 

            The final round Jake Rowe defeat a breaking out Andrew England.
