Neargardner takes first Super Pro Win of the Season!
Nearly two hundred cars showed on Saturday with perfect weather conditions for drag racing. In the Super Pro Division 80 entries made for a good Saturday’s Racing, it would be Jason Neargardner facing Dean Karns in the Quarter Finals. Neargardner would dial a 6.32 to the 6.98 of Karns. Neargardner had the advantage with a .506 reaction time, coupled with a 6.326 run at 108.67 Mph to make it through to the semi finals. Jerry Dunkle faced Bill Caudill next. Dunkle dialed the Chevelle to a 5.94, and Caudill dialed in at a 6.74. At the starting line Dunkle would snag a .510 reaction time, Dunkle ran a 5.934 at 114.19 for the win light. Brent Angles had the bye run into the next round. In the Semis it would be Brent Angles facing Jerry Dunkle, Angles made it down the track for a win light, which would pit him against bye runner Jason Neargardner in the Finals! In the final run of the night, Neargardner dialed a 6.31 to Angles’ 5.28. Neargardner would get a .504 light which would give him the advantage, with a 6.334 run for the Win!
In Pro Bike Danny Oiler faced Perry
“Dog” Sowers for the Semi Finals. Mechanical problems on the Oiler bike
caused a red light, moving Sowers to the next round. The next pair up
was Dave Beavers and Mike McGrath. Dave Beavers 10.13 dial, McGrath
would dial a 9.84. Beavers got the starting line advantage with a .503
light, but would breakout giving the win to McGrath who ran a 9.8661 at
127.83 Mph. In the Pro division Semi Finals it was John Engle running Rob Matthews. Engle would leave early for a red light, moving Matthews into the next round. Up next was Mike Hurless and Doug Caplinger. Hurless dialed a 10.34 to the 11.42 of Caplinger. Hurless won the reaction time battle with a .528 light, and would stay ahead with a 10.334 run for the win. In the finals it was Rob Matthews against Mike Hurless. Hurless dialed a 10.31 to Matthews’ 9.80. Reaction was better for Hurless, but Matthews would take the win with a 9.8072 run at 134.30 Mph.
In sportsman Semi Finals it was Mike Klontz against Judy Partida. Partida would leave the line early for a red light giving the win to Klontz. Up next was Gary Hill against Nick Davis. Hill dialed a 12.42 to Davis’ 12.15. The reaction time battle went to Davis with a .517. As they approached the finish line the win light went to Nick Daivs with a 12.3311 Run at 96.94 Mph. In the Finals it was Mike Klontz Vs. Nick Davis. It was a red light win in the finals with Mike Klontz taking the victory! In Junior Dragsters Semis it was Walt Crum III against Tyler Vance. Crum dialed a 9.15 to the 7.92 of Vance. At the tree Vance had the better light with a .550 and took the win with a 7.9850 run at 76.02 Mph. Up next was Megan Huges and Julie Duty. Hughes dialed an 8.58 to the 7.90 of Duty. As the left the tree the better light went to Hughes with a .526 reaction time. At the Finish line it was Hughes with a 8.6463 run at 75.00 Mph. In the Finals it was Megan Hughes Vs. Tyler Vance. Hughes dialed an 8.58 to the 7.92 of Vance. Hughes got away with a .515 light and an 8.6592 run for the win.
