2013 CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT KILKARE

Xenia OH: (9/13): Kilkare Speedway closed out its 2013 season Friday night racing by crowning its 2013 NASCAR WHELEN ALL AMERICAN RACING SERIES champions. Three of the classes, late models, street stocks and compacts were not decided until the final checker fell . In the late model ranks Don Mahaffey rode out his third place finish to just edge out Justin Alsip for the title and a trip to the NASCAR WHELEN Banquet. The street stock class saw Jamie Sites  pick up his second career championship. Paul Holley edged out Dwayne Snyder Jr. to notch his first ever track crown. Jack Jones was declared the winner of the modified feature and also posted his first ever championship. Jones had dominated all summer and locked up the title several weeks ago.
In racing action Jim Lewis Jr. of Fairborn carried the checker for the street stocks in his Performance Paint family owned Camaro. Sites, Bo Hoelscher, David Stump and Shawn Stansell finished second thru fifth. Sites and Stansell carried the checker for the heat races.
The modified feature ended well for Columbus driver Kyle Purvis as he topped the field in the 30 lap feature. The win was short lived however as his car failed a post race inspection and officials stripped him of his win. Second place running Jack Jones was declared the winner. Ryan Fleming, Mike Carroll, Bill Burba and Jim Lewis Jr. rounded out the top five. Purvis and Sites carried the checker for heat races.
The late model main was won for the second straight week by Cody Robinson in his Miami Valley Mfg. back racer. The strong finish by Robinson has him set up as an early championship contender for 2014. Alsip, Mahaffey, Bill Burba and Chad Pendelton rounded out the top five. Robinson and Burba were heat winners.
The compact main saw Dayton’s Dwayne Snyder pick up his fifth feature win of the season. It was a clean sweep for Snyder as he also set fast time and won his heat race. Paul Holley was second, with Cody Robertson third, Davey Shaw fourth and Randy Walton fifth.
KilKare will close out its oval track season this Sunday (9/15). The stars and cars of the ARCA/CRA series will make their KilKare debut. The Buckminn’s Harley Davidson/Oakley Blacktop 125 will roll off at about four o’clock. The street stocks and compacts will also be in the fray. It is a non NASCAR event for the compacts and street stocks. The compacts will be running on the big track
